From melodic blasts of hard hitting punk inspired sound to soulful acoustic rhythms. Every song is uniquely its own. Inspired by the likes of classic punk, rock, grunge, and the need to release the forgotten feeling of what music is all about. Entranced with soulful melodies and the angst of our everyday lives. Acustalapse is a three piece Indie/alternative rock band.

In case someone did not understand the meaning behind this song; the song is about how alcoholism became a common part of our culture because alcohol has been often portrayed in the media as the key to having a great time. This is where the words "swimming pools" comes to play in this song. Alcohol and pool parties (or any social gathering) are frequently placed together in advertisement and the people within those commercials are always portrayed as being happy and having the time of their life. Because of this pairing, we tend to associate drinking alcohol with having fun and escaping reality when in fact we are just running away from our problems. Some people strengthen this behavior and make it a habit for themselves of drinking alcohol in order to escape their problems. When Kendrick Lamar states the phrase,
"Pour up (drank), head shot (drank)
Sit down (drank), stand up (drank)
Pass out (drank), wake up (drank)
Faded (drank), faded (drank)"
He is illustrating the endless cycle of always getting drunk and not advancing anywhere in life. He is also trying to convey the idea that alcoholism has become a common part of our culture and we have conformed to this vice. He even uses himself in this song to let his audience know that he had developed alcoholism before because of his lifestyle. This song is simply brilliant because people expect this song to be about the pleasures of the "high life"; but in fact, he is criticizing that life style and is pushing for awareness and developing serious attitudes towards alcoholism. Thumbs up for Kendrick Lamar and thumbs up if you are against alcoholism or any drug abuse!
