The Darkitecht
Adagio Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Standing at the edge of life, questioning the moon,
Riding some black unicorns, shadows will come soon
What will be my face tomorrow,
Will I crawl on sand?
Is there any known feeling, on this mourning land?

Cold winds whipping my back,
Throrns handcuffs sharpening my wrists,
My dreams are fading away
Winters light is failing away,

I am the star charmer, the spell keeper,
Bound to me, all the chains to reverie
Open, the main door if you find the key,
But remember, your memories belongs to history

Progenies of night and moonlight,
Dancing towards me
A dark black and hazy waltz,
With a frightening melody,

The road is long and sad,
I'm alone out in the cold,
Thought I was going mad,
Maybe I'm simply getting old

Cold winds whipping my back,
Throrns handcuffs sharpening my wrists,
My dreams are fading away
Winters light is failing away,

I am the star charmer, the spell keeper,
Bound to me, all the chains to reverie

Open, the main door if you find the key,
But remember, your memories belongs to history

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Adagio's song "The Darkitecht" delve into themes of existential questioning, fear, and mysticism. The first stanza illustrates the singer's state of uncertainty, standing "at the edge of life" and "questioning the moon." The reference to "black unicorns" and the impending arrival of "shadows" add to the mysterious and slightly ominous tone of the lyrics. There is a sense of fear and a desire for stability as the singer contemplates what their future holds and whether they will be able to face it.

The second stanza introduces elements of physical pain and decay, with the imagery of "cold winds whipping my back" and "thorns handcuffs sharpening my wrists." The allusion to "winters light" failing away suggests a sense of despair and hopelessness. However, the singer's identity as the "star charmer" and "spell keeper" adds a layer of fantastical elements to the lyrics. The line "your memories belong to history" hints at the cyclical nature of existence and the idea that everything is connected.

Overall, "The Darkitecht" is a complex and thought-provoking song that invites the listener to ponder the bigger questions in life. It blends elements of mysticism and darkness to create a haunting and memorable experience.

indeed this is such a great keyboard player he is very creative with the timings and does alot of variations :o in a part im happy that they are not that famous over in usa, cuz there are a bunch of noobs that start listening and they dont know anything about anything! they start talking stupid stuff and give a bad name to great bands ! they dont realize the time and effort that takes to get to really explode your creativity to such a level
