Anytime
Adam Baldwin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Clouds under my lover's feet
With a thousand other people
She's alone on the street
Me I'm just a voice in need
What's a woman like her
Doin' with me

Where the sun and the moon collide
I'll meet her there anytime

In her eyes I've seen a trace of gold
That every king would beg to behold
I've only one place to go
That's back in her arms
Or on my way home

Where the sun and the moon still shine
They float around ya babe in the very same sky
And then the two of our hearts collide
I'll meet her there anytime

I hope I don't stray too far
These days on the road ain't the easiest part
And I hope she don't take it too hard
She'll light up a flame instead of cursing the dark

Where the sun and the moon still shine
They float around you babe in the very same sky
And then the two of our hearts collide
I'll meet her there anytime

Oh I'll meet her there anytime
Oh I'll meet her there anytime

Oh I'll meet her there anytime
I'll meet her there anytime

Overall Meaning

The song "Anytime" by Adam Baldwin describes the feelings of a man who is deeply in love with a woman, but feels unworthy of her. The first verse sets the scene of the woman walking alone on the street with crowds around her, yet she seems isolated. The man recognizes her beauty and wonders why she is with him. The chorus talks about the point of convergence of the sun and moon, which represents the point where impossibility becomes possible. The man promises to meet her there anytime and fulfill her wishes.

The second verse speaks to how the man perceives the woman as his queen, and admires her beauty, as gold in her eyes. The last line, “That’s back in her arms, or on my way home,” is a powerful statement that points to his unworthiness, which leads him to believe that he has only two options: being with her or going home, as he is not good enough for her. The bridge in the song reflects the importance of the woman in his life, and how he hopes to keep her happy even though he is not always with her. The chorus is repeated twice, reiterating the promise of meeting her anytime.
