With the natural ability to capture the emotional sentiment within a song, to twist and perceive lyrics to compliment his melodies, and give you the opportunity to fall in love with well written music, at such a young age still you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking this man is telling you stories beyond his years.

Adam Barnes Lyrics

'Don't fall, don't fall', with the rocks against my skull
All the waves came crashing down against the hull
And seeped in through the cracks of the corners of your boat,
I know
And all through cover,
The rain will sweep and swallow you alive
And oh, my lover
Not the grace or the elegance can hide
But give you enough time to say goodbye
Save my soul, save my life.
'I know, I know', as I dove in overboard.
'Don't fall, don't fall', with the rocks against my skull
All the waves came crashing down against the hull
And seeped in through the cracks of the corners of your boat,
I know
And good God, good God
If you see me, hear me suffering tonight
Would you hold my hand or strike it down with light?
This ship won't hold
Or break against the bracken in the night
The ice beneath the freezing sea in sight
Save my soul, save my life
Save my soul, save my life.
'I know, I know', as I dove in overboard.
'Don't fall, don't fall', with the rocks against my skull
All the waves came crashing down against the hull
And seeped in through the cracks of the corners of your boat,
We heard them yell
'Save me, save me.'
'Save me, save me.'
'I know, I know', as I dove in overboard.
You screamed 'don't fall!'
But the rocks they crushed my skull
And the waves came crashing down against the hull
And seeped in through the cracks, of the corners of your boat
As the storm begins to lift, and we're sinking to the floor
The lighthouse sees a wreck upon the nearest shore
'Save me, save me.'
'Save me, save me.'
The lyrics of 'Lighthouse' by Adam Barnes depict a story of a person who finds themselves in a perilous situation, trying to escape the tumultuous waves and rough winds of a stormy sea. The singer dives into the water, warning themselves not to fall, but the rocks hit their head, and they start to sink. They are frightened and asking for someone to save their life and soul. The person on the ship hears them yelling for help and tries to rescue them, but the waves are too strong, and the boat starts to sink.
The lyrics are an emotional depiction of a frightening experience of being lost in a stormy sea. The lines "All the waves came crashing down against the hull And seeped in through the cracks of the corners of your boat" illustrate the dangerous situation that the singer is facing. They call out for help, fearful that they might not be saved in time.
The song has a melancholic melody that adds to the emotion of the lyrics, with the use of acoustic guitar, strings, and piano. The song is a perfect example of how music can be used to convey feelings and emotions. It leaves you with a feeling of hope and melancholy at the same time.
