He is a self-proclaimed "indie pop whiz kid" who makes his own recordings in his parents' basement. He has been touring since 2001 and has played close to 400 shows. He's sold thousands of copies of two DIY albums. His biggest hit to date has been the song Broken Glass.

After he quit school after one year at the George Washington University, he began pursuing his music career.
