Brother

You didn't have to be a brother on the run
One bullet from a gun
That's how it started for this brother on the run
Looking to see who's behind you
Hoping like hell they don't find you
Trying to hide any place that you can
Brother on the run
You should have known this kind of life would be no fun
The evil you have done
Is this the reason you're the brother on the run?
What can you do and what can you say?
It wasn't supposed to, to happen this way
Where can you go and where can you hide
When no one's around to stand by your side
Brother on the run
Brother on the run
Brother on the run
Brother, brother, brother, brother on the run
Brother on the run
Brother, brother
The lyrics to Adam Wade's song "Brother on the Run" tell the story of a man who is on the run from the law. The song starts with a gunshot, which is how the man's troubles began. He is now running from the law, hoping to avoid being caught. The man is afraid, looking behind him to see if anyone is following him. He is desperate to find a place to hide and wonders how long he can keep running before he is caught.
The lyrics suggest that the man may have made some bad choices in his life, or perhaps done something wrong that led to his current situation. He's now reflecting on his life and wondering if this is what he was destined for. The song asks the tough questions about what can be done in this situation and whether or not it was supposed to happen this way. The chorus repeats the phrase "brother on the run" as a sort of mantra, emphasizing the man's desperate situation.
Overall, the song is a powerful and emotional exploration of what it feels like to be on the run. It's a reminder that even if we make mistakes in life, we can always try to change course and make things right.
