Their third compilation volume of non-album tracks from the archives was released in July 2006 on People Like You Records: "Longshot Songs for Broke Players 2001-2004". This 24-track CD and LP includes songs culled from singles (A & B 's), rarities, compilations, unreleased tunes, etc. Adam West followed up the release of this album with their seventh tour of Europe in October/November 2006.

Adam West was formed in the early 1990s, when singer Jake Starr decided to form a 60s garage band. Adam West started gigging around Washington, D.C. and soon built up a local following. Jake immediately started his own label, Fandango Records, and started recording and releasing Adam West material. Their first single in 1993 "I Get a Sensation" was a rave-up garage slice and got Adam West international attention. As of the beginning of 2006, Adam West has released circa 30 7-inch singles, one 10-inch EP, eight CDs, and has made over 35 high-profile appearances on various compilation CDs.

Adam West Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
and i sell my soul just to get that junk
while the cops beat down on my head
i keep it to myself but i gotta keep pushing
.357 right to my head
pull that trigger and then i'm dead
living on the street in a box
and i run like hell from the threat of the cops
i keep on trying to
push push struggle
i said i'd be the one
i swear i'll be the one
The lyrics of Adam West's song ".357" paint a dark and gritty picture of living on the streets as a drug addict. The opening lines describe the singer's desperation to satisfy their addiction, willing to do whatever it takes, even selling their soul. The imagery of the police beating down on their head further underscores the sense of hopelessness and victimization that comes with living in poverty and addiction.
The chorus of the song is particularly disturbing, as the singer contemplates suicide with a gun to their head. The haunting repetition of the word "push" adds to the sense of struggle and desperation, as the singer fights to survive against all odds. Despite the bleakness of the situation, however, the singer remains determined to persevere, promising to be the one who makes it out of this brutal cycle of poverty and addiction.
Overall, Adam West's ".357" is a powerful and unflinching depiction of the harsh realities of life on the streets, and the devastating toll that addiction can take on an individual.
