Break Down the Wall
Adam West Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's because of you
If you think I'm faking
I'll be sad and blue
I hear your warning
I hear your words
I'll soon be calling
And there you go
And I hope that you know
What you do to me
When you fake it
And I think that you know
That your lunacy drives me crazy
Break down the wall
And let me in
If I start to shiver
From below the waist
Lay down and quiver
Don't hesitate
I never wanted
To lose my way
But I got a feeling
Stretching to the ceiling
And there you go
The lyrics of Adam West's song Break Down the Wall are about a person, possibly the singer, who is in love with someone who is constantly running away. The singer is deeply affected by this behavior, and if they start shaking, it's because of this person. The person was warned, but they continue to run away. The singer is asking them to break down the wall and let them in. The second verse talks about the singer being physically affected by their feelings, which further emphasizes the intensity of their love for this person.
Overall, the lyrics convey a message of longing and desire. The singer wants to be close to this person and wants to break down the barriers that are keeping them apart, but they are unsure if the other person feels the same way.
In terms of the musicality of the song, it has a fast beat and is quite energizing. The way that the melody and the lyrics work together helps to convey the urgency of the singer's emotions. The guitar solo in the middle of the song is particularly noteworthy and adds to the overall power of the song.
