"You wanted the best and you got it, the hottest band in the land . . . Adam West!"
If you recognize where that line is from, then you know what time it is. Adam West is a rock-n-roll band, period. Take Iggy & the Stooges, Black Sabbath, The Misfits, The MC5, KISS, AC/DC, and mix in the best 60s garage punk and you've got Adam West. Can ya dig it? In their hometown of Washington, DC, Adam West has won six Wammie Awards for Best Hard Rock Group and Best Hard Rock Vocalist from the Washington Area Music Association!
Adam West is currently working on a new album due for release in Spring 2008. A full six-week tour of Europe is planned for Summer 2008.
Their third compilation volume of non-album tracks from the archives was released in July 2006 on People Like You Records: "Longshot Songs for Broke Players 2001-2004". This 24-track CD and LP includes songs culled from singles (A & B 's), rarities, compilations, unreleased tunes, etc. Adam West followed up the release of this album with their seventh tour of Europe in October/November 2006.
Adam West signed with German record label People Like You Records in 2001 and since have released the following full-length albums: "Power to the People" (2005), "Hi-Balls Are Rolling! 1999-2001" (2004), "God's Gift to Women" (2003), "Ready Steady Adam West! 1993-1999" (2002), and "Right On!" (2001). "Right On!" was also released in 2002 in the USA on The Telegraph Company record label and in Japan on Myrmecoleo Records.
Adam West was formed in the early 1990s, when singer Jake Starr decided to form a 60s garage band. Adam West started gigging around Washington, D.C. and soon built up a local following. Jake immediately started his own label, Fandango Records, and started recording and releasing Adam West material. Their first single in 1993 "I Get a Sensation" was a rave-up garage slice and got Adam West international attention. As of the beginning of 2006, Adam West has released circa 30 7-inch singles, one 10-inch EP, eight CDs, and has made over 35 high-profile appearances on various compilation CDs.

Miranda
Adam West Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I′ve never met a girl like you before, Miranda.
(Miranda)
And I'd do anything for you if you′d just ask.
(Miranda)
Ask me to do anything for you, Miranda.
But please don't ask me to remove my mask!
It's against the code of heros.
But you know how much I love you, darling.
So, come into my kingdom.
Boy Genius, what are you doing here?
Bruce, come right away!
There′s a job to be done!
A giant octopus has run amuck in Washington!
Hmm. Boy Genius, this is one time you′ll have to go out alone.
Would you like to make me see my muscles dance, Miranda?
(Miranda)
For someone powerful as me, it's no big task.
(Miranda)
Ask me to do anything for you, Miranda.
But please don′t ask me to remove my mask!
It's attachted to my special super thermo-beam-nuclear long underwear.
But don′t think I've forgotten my promise.
Tonight, I′m going to kiss you.
Oh...
Bruce, something terrible has happened!
Mister ACDC, the Electric Brain, has threatened to turn off the electric current all over the-
... see what I mean!
Holy Sherlock Holmes, Boy Genius, you're becoming a real stick in the mud!
You better... zoom-zoom right out of here.
Oh, I can see the hurt look on your face, Miranda.
(Miranda)
So I'm gonna do the little thing you ask.
(Miranda)
Come take a peek, a teeny-weeny peek, Miranda.
Get ready now while I remove my mask!
There, darling, what do you think?
Oh, please, put it back.
Drat!
The song "Miranda" by Adam West is a playful and humorous tribute to the titular character Miranda, who appears to be the object of the singer's affections. It's hinted that Bruce, who is most likely Batman, has feelings for Miranda and is willing to do anything for her as long as it doesn't compromise his secret identity. He is depicted as a conflicted hero, struggling with his desire to be with Miranda and the moral code he has to follow as a hero. The tension in the lyrics comes from the repeated plea to Miranda not to ask Bruce to remove his mask, which is later revealed to be attached to his special super thermo-beam-nuclear long underwear. The song ends on a comical note as Miranda's reaction to Bruce's unmasking is less than favorable. The lyrics, while simple, contain themes of love and duty, and they provide a playful insight into the mindset of a conflicted hero.
