This really sounds like a song for her son, Angelo. She said in interviews that this album is for her son, and I feel like the first single is her asking her son to understand the choices she made that have affected him.
On the divorce:

For me personally, this song is about having the clarity to understand the effects of my choices, and how I've hurt other people in the process. I've always wanted to reach out to an ex of mine, even though it has been many years since we broke up. I feel like I've matured already and I'd really like us to have a conversation about what happened, about who were then and who we are now.
