Circle
Ador Dorath Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Serpent made bed on Crystal Hill
Apparation of Finalty took centuries
When Sinner screamed
Luna had a Laugh and urged the horses
Why should she care about people
Such a beauty has not been seen for ages
Heart was written all over by blook till it went black
Nothing left here
But bare consonance

Of Creator
With forked tongue

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ador Dorath's song Circle seem to be talking about the passage of time and the inevitability of death. The reference to the serpent making its bed on Crystal Hill could refer to the idea of a snake shedding its skin, which is a metaphor for rebirth and renewal. The apparition of Finality taking centuries could refer to the slow march of time towards death, and how we all eventually succumb to it.

The line about the sinner screaming might suggest that the person is realizing the futility of resisting death, but Luna - which is the Roman goddess of the moon - seems to laugh and urge the horses forward regardless. This could symbolize the idea that death is inevitable and that even the powerful goddess of beauty can't prevent it from happening.

The last line of the lyrics is particularly haunting - "Nothing left here but bare consonance of Creator with forked tongue". This seems to suggest that after death, what's left is simply empty sound, with no real meaning or purpose. The idea of the "Creator" having a forked tongue may be a reference to the idea that life and death are both necessary parts of the cycle of creation and destruction.
