Hit the Wall
Adrenaline Mob Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Heavy is my heart but it's alright
We all know you're never wrong
It's always the same and I'm so tired
Living the life for too long

Tired, frustrated
This life is overrated
I think I'm hitting the wall
Tired, can't take it
Full speed, I think I'll make it
I think I'm hitting the wall

Line after line, it just drags on
Why can't you leave it alone?
Blistering tongues, blood in my ears
Drowning in your sticks and stones

Tired, frustrated
This life is overrated
I think I'm hitting the wall
Tired, can't take it
Full speed, I think I'll make it
I think I'm hitting the wall

I see the river running red
Inside my head through bloodshot eyes
And comes the thunder
Running through the metal madness as I ride

Tired, frustrated
This life is overrated
I think I'm hitting the wall
Tired, can't take it
Full speed, I think I'll make it
I think I'm hitting the wall

I'm looking down upon this wreck of a life
The voice of angels whispered, "Leave it all behind"
I'm stepping through the door
No going back
Can't take it anymore
Memories fade to black

Memories fade to black
Fade to black

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Adrenaline Mob's "Hit the Wall" depict a person who has worn out and tired of the monotonous and frustrating experiences of living. The first verse suggests that the person is acknowledging the heaviness in their heart, yet living in denial of the fact that they are always wrong. It is always the same way of living, which has become tiresome. The second verse talks about a tedious existence, punctuated with verbal attacks that the person must endure without a respite. The line "blistering tongues, blood in my ears, drowning in your sticks and stones" symbolizes the damage that occurs when harsh and negative energy is directed at someone for too long.

The chorus describes the person's state of mind. They are tired, frustrated, and feel like they're "hitting the wall." The phrase "hitting the wall" means that they can no longer continue as they have been and need to break the monotony of their existence. The third verse talks about the chaos in the person's head, with vivid images of red rivers flowing inside bloodshot eyes. The metal music that the person listens to becomes a medium that they ride through to escape their troubles. The final verse has a sense of finality with the person stepping through a door, leaving their wrecked life behind with memories fading to black.

Is "The Duke" playing on this? Please excuse my ignorance.

@MatteoRinaldi93

I don't know "The Duke", however this group is formed by Russell Allen on vocals, Mike Orlando on guitar, John Moyer on bass and Mike Portnoy on drums. The latter left the band months ago, I hope I was helpful.

@MrHeem94

Matteo Portnoy
So, no to Rich Ward then.

@MatteoRinaldi93

TheRealMrPooPyNuTz Aaaaaa Rich Ward, it was a former member of the band. I don't know if he has recorded tracks.
