Heavily influenced by his idol, Elvis Presley, and the 1950s rock revolution, he is also known as the most famous dancer of the Hula hoop fad. For the last 40 years he has retained his popularity in Italy, selling millions of records and appearing in numerous TV shows and movies (including a short appearance in Fellini's La Dolce Vita, before becoming a famous artist). In the latter respect, he has also been a creator of a comic genre, with his characteristic walking and his facial expressions. For the most part, his films were commercially successful, in fact in the 1970s and part of the 1980s, he was the king of the Italian box office in low budget movies. As an actor, critics point to Serafino (1968), directed by Pietro Germi, as his best effort.
As a director he frequently casts Ornella Muti, Eleonora Giorgi and his wife Claudia Mori. His best movie like director is "Yuppi Du", winner of The Golden Palm at Cannes Festival. He and Claudia are the parents of Rosita, Rosalinda and Vincent Celentano, the latter most notable to worldwide audiences for playing the Satan character in Mel Gibson`s The Passion of the Christ. He also works often as a host for several Italian television shows.
His 1968 song "Azzurro" has regained popularity in 2006, due to it being the anthem of the Italian national football team (the Azzurri) who won the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The artist Vincent Fiorello has also created a remix of the song.
His last concert-event in 2012, after 18 years without live performances, was transmitted on Canale 5, with over 9 million viewers both evenings.

Se mi baci ti do il mio veleno
La rosa scarlatta sul seno
E dopo t'amerò
Veleno,
Dei miei baci non puoi fare a meno
E dopo sai che fa veleno
Poi ti trafiggo il cuor.Prendi
Tutti i baci innominati
Cogli di quest'attimo il piacere
No no no no no no no
Veleno,
Se mi baci ti do il mio veleno
La rosa scarlatta sul seno
E dopo t'amerò.
Prendi
Tutti i baci innominati
Cogli di quest'attimo il piacere
No no no no no no no
Veleno,
Se mi baci ti do il mio veleno
La rosa scarlatta sul seno
E dopo t'amerò.
Veleno,
Se mi baci ti do il mio veleno.
The lyrics of Adriano Celentano's song Veleno are a warning about the danger of infatuation and desire. The title means "poison" and the metaphor of poison is used throughout the song to describe the effects of the singer's love. The song begins with an invitation to the lover to kiss the singer so that she can give him her "poison," which she compares to a scarlet rose on her breast. She promises that after he kisses her, he will be unable to resist her kisses, which she describes as "poison" that will "then pierce his heart."
The chorus repeats this message, urging the lover to take pleasure in the moment and warning him that her love is dangerous. The verses continue with the theme of poison, as the singer encourages the lover to indulge in unnamed desires, promising him that it will be worth the risk. The song's final line is a repetition of the warning that her love is poison, but this time it is delivered in a more confident tone, suggesting that the singer is proud of her power to seduce and control.
Overall, Veleno is a cautionary tale about the danger of allowing desire to overpower reason. The singer's seductive power is presented as a kind of poison that can consume and destroy those who succumb to it. The lyrics suggest that love, like poison, can be both alluring and deadly, and that one must be careful not to become its victim.

Sério que essa é a original do "Veneno" da Marina Lima? Meu, não parece nada, não dá nem pra reconhecer. Essa aqui é divertidinha, bem Austin Powers. Mas a versão brasileira virou uma balada belíssima...
