Spinning
Advaita Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dhayan dharun aur laagun paiyyan
Kab aawenge more mandirva
Been walking a while looking around
There's so much to see so much to hear to feel Can you Hear the river flow Will it sing another song Will it last forever
As the world turns
The night turns to day
The seasons change
My thoughts breakaway
I'm learning to live
In a brand new way
Tumri maya ke dhang nyare
Saban jagat ke tum hi sahare
Kaa se kahun ab mora dukhwa
kab aawenge more mandirva
(Turning around its spinning around)
The lyrics of Spinning by Advaita convey a mix of emotions and ideas. The first two lines of the Hindi verse “Laaj rakho tum mori gussaiyan, Dhayan dharun aur laagun paiyyan” urge the listener to remain patient while the singer experiences a bout of anger. The following lines inquire about when the singer will be visiting their temple, implying that the previous verse may have been related to a spiritual process. The English verse that follows seems to be a reflection on the changing nature of the world and the singer's place in it. As the singer is wandering around, they contemplate the impermanence of things and seem to be learning to live in a more present and mindful way.
The repeated line “kab aawenge more mandirva" in both the Hindi and English verses roughly translates to “when will my temple arrive?”. This may refer to a metaphorical temple of peace or spiritual awakening, which the singer seems to be seeking. The Hindi verse mentions seeking support from “Saban jagat ke tum hi sahare” which means “you are the only support in the entire world”. The singer likely refers to a divine entity or a higher power that they seek assistance from in their spiritual journey.
