The band released their first album issued self-titled debut in autumn 1989, which included the hits, "Sayanora", "Heat of the Moment", "Can't Stop" and the quiet storm staple, "Ready or Not". After promoting the album and seeing it go to platinum, they scored a hit with the Motown-influenced "Nights Like This" on the 1991 soundtrack to The Five Heartbeats. The trio returned with 1992's Takin' My Time, which included the hit cover of The Originals' "Baby I'm For Real". The trio released their last album, with Reflections, in 1995, which included the hit, "'Til You Do Me Right". After Mitchell split from After 7 in 1997, the Edmonds brothers continued performing, releasing the cover of Hall & Oates' "Sara Smile" before silently disbanding that year.
The brothers continue to perform in venues for reunions. Both Kevon and Melvin Edmonds appear with Babyface in the film Soul Food, as members of the R&B group Milestone and performing the song "I Care About You". In 1999, Kevon Edmonds released a solo LP, which included the single "24/7." In 2006 they appeared on the New Jack Reunion Tour.

Baby hair with a woman's eyes
And I can feel you watchin' in the night
All alone in me
I'm waitin' for the sunlight
My baby, when I feel cold, you warm me
You come and hold me
And it's you and me forever, Sara
Smile, why don't you smile
A while for me Sara?
Sara smile, why don't you smile
A while for me Sara, baby?
If you feel like leavin', you know, you can go
But why don't you stay until tomorrow?
If you wanna be free, you know
All you got to do is say so
When you feel cold I will warm you, baby
When you feel you can't go on
I'll hold you
It's you and me forever, Sara
Smile, smile for me, baby
When you do everything's alright
Smile, Sara, baby
Smile a while, baby
Everything's alright
Sara smile
Sara smile
Sara smile

The lyrics of After 7's "Sara Smile" depict a man speaking directly to his lover, Sara, expressing his appreciation for her and the way she makes him feel. He describes her physical features, suggesting that she has a youthful appearance, with "baby hair," yet possesses a sense of maturity with her "woman's eyes." He can sense her watching him throughout the night, which indicates a deep connection they share. When the man is alone, he waits for the sunlight, which is possibly a metaphor for her presence in his life, bringing light to his world.
The main theme of the song is the man's love for Sara and how she makes everything in his life better, from warming him when he is cold to holding him when he feels he cannot go on. The man acknowledges that if Sara wishes to leave, she is free to go, but he wants her to stay, at least until tomorrow. He reassures her that he will continue to be there for her, whether she stays or not. The chorus of the song pleads with Sara to smile and make everything all right.
Overall, "Sara Smile" is a romantic ballad that expresses the singer's love and admiration for his beloved Sara. It is a heartfelt plea for her to stay and continue to make everything in his life better.

I remember when this song came out in the 70's. I'm not familiar with this group so I just heard it on tiktok for the first time. Hall an Oates did their thing but to me this is more soulful. My goodness. This version is awesome. Yes!!!!
