The oeuvr… Read Full Bio ↴Progressive rock band formed in Budapest, Hungary in 1986.
The oeuvre of After Crying stands unparalleled in Hungarian music palette, and is also rare in international comparison.
The aim of this creative community has ever been to compose contemporary, up-to-date classical music that is possible to understand for many people – since it uses elements of today’s everyday musical idiom; and at the same time is able to convey deep meaning at a high artistic level, dealing with serious issues of our time.
A kind of "up-to-date classical music" that addresses both its own contemporaries and eternity at the same time. On the stage, their regular instrumentarium ranges from classic-acoustic instruments (cello, trumpet, piano, flute) to the standard setup of a modern rock band. From time to time they play shows with a chamber or symphony orchestra. On their studio-albums countless variations of classical and modern compositional methods and instrumentation appear, from acoustic chamber lineup to 21st century symphonic and electronic sounds.
All these are mounted in an organic dramaturgy, where the pieces ranging from song-format to long instrumental compositions all find their appropriate content. While heavily influenced by Emerson, Lake and Palmer or King Crimson, they added a number of unique elements to their sound. Keyboard player Vedres Csaba was the primary composer during his tenure with the band, though others took up the slack without a significant change in style. After leaving, Csaba formed Townscream.

After Crying Lyrics

a melyben több van tizenkétszer tízezer embernél,
a kik nem tudnak különbséget tenni jobb- és
balkezük között, és barom is sok van?'
The lyrics you provided are from the song "Bevezetés" by After Crying. The song is based on the biblical story of the prophet Jonah and his journey to the city of Nineveh.
The lyrics express the hesitation and reluctance of the singer, who is questioning whether or not he should pity the great city of Nineveh. The city is depicted as a place where there are countless people who cannot distinguish between their right and left hands, and there are also many animals. This excerpt conveys the idea that the city is filled with ignorant and foolish individuals, which makes the singer hesitant to feel compassion for them.
However, it is important to note that the lyrics are written in Hungarian, and translations may vary slightly in meaning. Additionally, the full context of the song and the rest of the lyrics would provide a deeper understanding of the intended message.

Én pedig ne szánjam Ninivét, a nagy várost,
And should I not have compassion for Nineveh, the great city,
a melyben több van tizenkétszer tízezer embernél,
which has more than twelve times ten thousand people,
a kik nem tudnak különbséget tenni jobb- és balkezük között,
who cannot distinguish between their right and left hands,
és barom is sok van?'
and there are also many animals?
