3. After Forever (Maryland, USA)
Hailing from Baltimore Maryland, After Forever was founded for the sole purpose of recreating through live performance the music of the legendary Black Sabbath. Comprised of veteran musicians, After Forever celebrates this music with a passion borne through nearly three decades of formal study, influence and outright fanaticism. We then employ gear and amplification that was designed to meet the tonal demands of Black Sabbath themselves.

Who Wants To Live Forever
After Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's no place for us
What is this thing that builds our dreams
Yet slips away from us
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
There's no chance for us
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Who dares to love forever
Oh ooh woh, when love must die
Touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can live forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Forever is our today
Who waits forever anyway?
The lyrics of the song "Who Wants to Live Forever" by After Forever explore the concept of mortality and the inevitability of death. The opening lines of the song suggest a sense of urgency and despair, as there is no time or place for the fulfillment of our dreams, which seem to slip away from us. The song then poses the question, "Who wants to live forever?" as if to suggest that immortality is not necessarily desirable, since there is no chance for us to decide our fate in this world. The world, as the lyrics suggest, has only one sweet moment set aside for us, which makes it all the more precious and fleeting.
However, despite the sadness and despair, there is a glimmer of hope and love in the song. The chorus repeats the question "Who wants to live forever?" as if to acknowledge the beauty and preciousness of life, despite its brevity. The second verse of the song asks "Who dares to love forever?" suggesting that true love is eternal and transcends mortality. The final lines of the song offer a tender and hopeful vision of love that can endure beyond death, suggesting that through love we can live and love forever.
