Take Me Home
After Midnight Project Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm walking in the shadow of my tempted soul
Time is ticking by
While I'm chatting with this bottle of wine
I know that I'm not perfect
I'll admit that I'm a fool
I'm always getting lost
But always finding my way back to you, the one
I need when I'm awake.

Take me Home
I wanna go
And I'm sorry I can't love you
I'm sorry I can't make you see who I am.

Did he see it coming'
Dying in a bath of shame'
While all his hopes past him by
And all his fears had killed him dry'
I can see what he was thinking
It's so easy if you try
Because killing yourself with a silver dagger just to show how much you love her
Is worth the pain
Then to hear her cry your name.

Take me Home
I wanna go
And I'm sorry I can't love you
I'm sorry I can't make you see who I am.

I can't go on, I can't live like this
And I can't go on, I can't live like this.
And I can't go on, I can't live like this...

Take me Home
I wanna go

And I'm sorry I can't love you
I'm sorry I can't make you see who I am.

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of After Midnight Project's "Take Me Home" present vulnerable lyrics about the internal struggle experienced by the songwriter. The image of walking in the shadow of a tempted soul is a powerful one, evoking the feeling of being constantly pulled towards self-destructive behavior. The lyrics suggest that the songwriter is grappling with addiction, as they are chatting with a bottle of wine, symbolizing the desire to escape their reality. Though they admit that they are not perfect, they express a desire to find their way back to someone they need when they are awake. The chorus of the song repeats the title phrase, "Take me Home," conveying a plea for rescue and a need for someone to guide the songwriter through their difficult journey.

The second verse of "Take Me Home" switches perspectives and addresses someone who has already lost their battle with their personal demons. The lyrics convey a grim picture of someone dying in a bath of shame, surrounded by their own regrets and failures. The songwriter expresses empathy for this person and is able to imagine the thoughts that may have led them down their fatal path. The final lines of this verse suggest that the person may have taken their own life in an attempt to prove their love to someone else, which makes the loss even more tragic.

Yea its a good game only issue with it was enemies got way to bullet spongey near the end got kind of annoying.

Same here!

@0Synergy it honestly isn't that bad and they arent acctually that bullet spongy. It was ok for it's time, but you know yt ig tik tok and all other bullshit destroyed our attention span, focus etc. Either way I acctually enjoyed last couple of chapters the most.

0Synergy

@L P  what difficulty did you play on? I played on hard and man, by the end, I was out of ammo for everything because enemies just ate way to many rounds. Good thing you get infinite arrows

L P

@0Synergy normal/medium,I always play on middle difficulty, because I want expirience primarily in every game.

Don't forget to mention this was pretty much for the VERY awesome game called Prey, probably one of the most underrated games of all time. One of the few games that actually felt like it had heart. 3DRealms R.I.P.
