The song “Timeless” by After School talks principally about the pain of separation and heartbreak when a relationship has come to an end. The singer portrays her sadness and loneliness and tries to convey her emotions with a deep heart-touching voice. The chorus of the song emphasizes the feeling of pain with the lyrics “byeori sarajigo ijeseoya naneun ijeseoya”, which means that “the stars have disappeared, it's over now, it’s over now”. The singer goes on to say that she knows how much it hurts and that she can feel that pain.
The lyrics also reflect the frustration, denial, and the hope of getting back together. The repetitive lines “oh oh oh oh oh oh, time to do another” in the pre-chorus give the sense that the singer wants to move on and begin anew, but she is struggling to do so as the memories of the past relationship are still haunting her. She is pleading with her lover to return to her as she can no longer bear the pain of separation, as reflected in the lyrics, “jebal ireon nal jabajwo,” which means, “please take me back again."
Overall, "Timeless" by After School is a heart-wrenching song that conveys the pain of separation and heartbreak, with a touch of hope and the possibility of reconciliation.
