Wolf Hour
Agent Side Grinder Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I′ve heard a rumour
Resting deeply
At the bottom
Speaking harshly
Giving lectures
Filling glasses
Counting counters
Shifting hours

It's in the movement
In the action
See the colours
Face your visions
So weave your voices
Feel the shivers
Punch the mirror
At your best

I call on you
To walk with me
I call on you
This city′s closed to us now
A solid stone
Rolls down these bones
I call on you
This city's dead to us now

It's in the blueprint
In the instinct
It′s an echo
Speaking clearly
So pick your make-up
Feel the moment
Punch the mirror
At your best

I call on you
To walk with me
I call on you
This city′s closed to us now
A solid stone
Rolls down these bones
I call on you
This city's dead to us now

I call on you
To walk with me
I call on you
This city′s closed to us now
A solid stone
Rolls down these bones
I call on you
This city's dead to us now

I call on you
To walk with me
I call on you
This city′s closed to us now
A solid stone
Rolls down these bones
I call on you
This city's dead to us now

I call on you
To walk with me
I call on you
This city′s closed to us now
A solid stone
Rolls down these bones

I call on you
This city's dead to us now

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Wolf Hour" by Agent Side Grinder are both cryptic and evocative. The song seems to be a call to action, urging the listener to join the singer in a rebellious act against an oppressive city or authority. The opening lines suggest that there is a hidden force or underground movement that is actively working towards change, but that it is not easily accessible or visible to outsiders.

The second stanza conveys a sense of urgency and excitement, as the singer describes the moment of rebellion as a time to "weave your voices" and "feel the shivers". There is also a sense of danger, as the instruction to "punch the mirror" implies that there will be physical consequences to this act of rebellion.

The repeated refrain of "I call on you to walk with me" reinforces the idea of unity and solidarity, and suggests that the singer is calling out to a specific group of people who share his desire for change. The final lines, which declare that "this city's dead to us now", suggest that the rebellion has succeeded in some way, but also hint at a sense of loss or sacrifice.

Overall, the lyrics of "Wolf Hour" seem to be a rallying cry for individuals who feel disenfranchised or oppressed, urging them to take action and fight for their rights and freedom.

@coral4874

Strong, sexy batcave vocals with dramatic synths..how can you not love this song?

@Zinfidel1

I absolutely love the way ASG does music and it's been a huge influence. In an age where everyone uses computers to make music with as little of effort as possible, ASG does things the old school way. And so do I. Hardware/Software is one of my favorite modern albums and I imagine it is something i'll share 20 years from now. It is that cool.

@monsterx3055

they have a ministry feel like a lot of early 80s goth and industrial

@disko.kommando

This song is amazing live! Loved you @ Amphi! So thankful to have stumbled upon such a great band. I am now binge listening to the entire catalog on repeat.

@COOKINGFROMTHELOFT

The male to male "call and response" nature of this song is beautiful. It's a classic.

@IK-eg5fs

Just discovered them and they're really great. I'll see them at the Bimfest ! :-)

@godinhonunes

sounds good to me, looking forward to hear the album next year!
