Agents of Steel
Agent Steel Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Back in the days we first sighted
Their shields gleaming bright in the sky
The light that was brighter than fire
Forced cowards to run out of spite
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel...
Feel the day getting closer
They'll return for the masses to see
I shed a tear when they left us
My heart now bleeds for their coming...
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel...
The signs prepare for their coming
Now you know that it's clear
You know that we'll be returning
Once more, but not for too long
Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel

Masters of metal, agents of steel
Masters of metal, agents of steel...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Agents of Steel" by Agent Steel depict an apocalyptic scenario in which extraterrestrial beings, referred to as "agents of steel," come to Earth. The first stanza describes the initial sighting of their shining shields in the sky, which frightened and defeated the cowardly. The repetition of the line "Masters of metal, agents of steel" emphasizes the power and dominance of these beings over humanity. The second stanza indicates a sense of longing and hope for their return, as the singer sheds a tear and his heart "now bleeds for their coming." The final stanza suggests that the signs of their return are present, and that they will indeed come back to Earth, though not for long.

The lyrics can be interpreted as a commentary on the idea of extraterrestrial life and its potential impact on Earth. The agents of steel are portrayed as both fearsome and awe-inspiring, and the singer's emotional response to their arrival and departure suggests a complex relationship between humans and these otherworldly beings. The repetition of the phrase "Masters of metal, agents of steel" also highlights the importance of heavy metal music as a conduit for exploring themes of power, dominance, and otherworldliness.

I remember as a high school kid reading a rock magazine, it was an interview with Fenriz from Darkthrone and he said: "If you don't like Agent Steel, you don't like metal".

Hard John

Delhi Delirium

So true , that .

𝓣𝓲𝓰𝓻𝓮

I never liked Agent Steel at all but I will always be Metal till the end and want to be buried with my RR Jackson Flying V. Fenriz talks more shit than Dave Mustaine, Axl Rose & Varg combined. Truth be told, Fenriz's music was closer to crust punk than it ever was or will be to Heavy Metal anway.

Little Brother

@𝓣𝓲𝓰𝓻𝓮 well, Soulside Journey album is enough for me to understand how noob you are. Jackson flying v, lol sure bud

𝓣𝓲𝓰𝓻𝓮

@Little Brother Yeah, and since that comment I bought another Jackson, a RRX24 red one =), what can I say, I love Metal, and will love it more than you'll ever know.
