And in my heart I wished that I was just as fair
When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch, but as she passed, a smile.
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I stopped to buy some candy; met a boy who had such charm.
We talked, he seemed so happy, if I were late, it do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, 'Thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you. You see,' he said, 'I'm blind.'
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 eyes to see the world and the world is mine.
Later that day on my way, I saw a boy with eyes of blue.
He watched the other children play; he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said, 'Why don't you join the others, dear?'
He kept on looking straight ahead and then I knew he could not hear
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears to hear the world and world is mine.
With legs to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know
Oh the world is mine
I stopped for a moment, just look how much I have
Everywhere, in all our lives, these are His signs
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, and the world is mine
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, and the world is mine
The song "Forgive Me" by Ahmed Bukhatir is a powerful reminder to be grateful for the blessings in our lives and to not take them for granted. The singer reflects on several encounters throughout his day, each one revealing a person facing a challenge that he does not have to endure. He sees a girl with one leg and a boy who is blind and realizes how fortunate he is to have two legs and two eyes. He encounters another boy who is deaf and understands the privilege of being able to hear. The song highlights how self-pity and complaining can often blind us to the goodness in our lives and the blessings that we have been given.
The chorus of the song is a plea to Allah for forgiveness for the times when the singer has complained, and a recognition of how much he has been blessed. The message of the song is one that transcends religious boundaries and touches on the human experience of gratitude and empathy. It is a reminder to appreciate the present and to not take anything for granted.

Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair.
And wished I was as fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, she smiled.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I 'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have blessed indeed, the world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it 'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind.
You see," he said, "I 'm blind"
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I 'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.

I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
And then I knew. He couldn't hear.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I 'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have blessed indeed, the world is mine

Thank you for this song. In 1993 I was in a car accident. My seatbelt came loose, and the shoulder strap caught me and my head went through the windshield. The truck rolled crushing the roof down onto my neck. When I came to, I just laid there talking to myself and believe it or not accessing my situation. I knew I was paralyzed, but didn't know the depth of my paralysis. In and out of passing out, it seemed like hours before paramedics and firefighter got there. All the while through it, I knew I'd be okay, no matter the outcome. I was left paralyzed from the chest down. I don't have full function of my fingers, but I do take care of myself. Through the years, I have had what is called "pity parties", but that's expect. When I start feeling down and the oh woath me comes on, I remember others that are having a much more difficult time than me in this life. They're animals, and people suffering a far worse fate, and I always ask God to forgive my selfishness, and to please help them. Again thank you for the song.
