Ahmed Mekky reflects on the past in his song "2ayyam Zaman". He longs for the days in which he felt safe and secure, without understanding the betrayal that can come with time. Mekky reflects on how he used to live day by day without worrying about what tomorrow may bring. He says that our accomplishments are still fresh, and we still have time to learn about treachery and betrayal. There are still people who are cowardly and two-faced, stabbing you in the back while giving you a smile to your face.
Mekky goes on to reflect on how the value of money has been distorted in society. He laments at how people are driven insane by their need for money, causing them to do terrible things such as murder and theft. The pursuit of money has caused people to become corrupted, filled with greed and betrayal. Society has become so blinded by the pursuit of money that people will do anything to get it, even if it involves hating someone who benefits them.
Mekky concludes the song by reflecting on his once pure heart that had become blemished over time. He sees himself as a stranger, unaware of the story he once lived. He reflects on the fact that people show different faces when they are in different situations. He believes that as people grow up, their desire for discovery diminishes, and they become trapped in their habits. Mekky longs for a return to simple times, where he can live without worries, and everything is new and exciting, like it once was.
