the climb
Ahmir feat. David Sides Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting
On the other side (the other side)
It's the climb
I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming, but
There's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make, feels
Lost, with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I, I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain (Always)
I'm always gonna wanna make it move (Make it move)
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there (Now how fast)
Ain't about what's waiting
On the other side
It's the climb
There's always gonna be another mountain (There's always gonna...)
I'm always gonna wanna make it move (...be)
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose (Have to lose)
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting
On the other side
It's the climb

It's the climb (It's the climb)
It's all about the climb.

Thank you Ahmir so much for this song!! It has become my personal anthem and  has kept me going through knee replacement, second degree burns, and being hit by a taxi and having a long hospital stay. I play it every day to remind myself to overcome obstacles and reach my fitness goals.  Someday I will walk without a cane.  Your song is an inspiration.

You are worthy.

+gingergeri +davidsides I wasn't kidding when I wrote 2 years ago that your cover of "The Climb" is my personal anthem. I hold on to it and it is so beautifully done that it gives me hope. There were a lot of medical setbacks but I will have my 5th surgery soon and doctor says I will be walking in a couple months. I hold onto this song every day. Bless you for the artistry and impact this song has.
