He was discovered by Mark Rae and signed to Grand Central. So far has released three full length studio albums - Cold Water Music, Hinterland and recently Flight 602. He also released Means of Production - an album collecting together his early singles and two DJ mix albums (Stars on 33 and Fabric Live 17).
Much of Aim's work is instrumental, though his records include collaborations with other artists who provide vocals, including Stephen Jones of Babybird, Diamond D, Souls of Mischief, QNC and Kate Rogers.
Aim has also worked as remixer, mixing songs for a variety of artists including Ian Brown, Saint Etienne, The Charlatans, Lil' Kim, Thunderbugs, Archive, Down to the Bone, Texas and former label-mates Rae & Christian.
In 2004, Aim produced the fellow ex-Grand Central artist, Niko's debut album, Life On Earth.
Aim left Grand Central Records in early 2005 and formed his own record label, ATIC Records, in June 2005. The first album released on the label was Aim's Flight 602, which was released in September 2006. Niko has also signed to ATIC and will be returning Aim's earlier favour, by providing vocals for the new album.

its a new beat track, what have you
word up hope you like it
straight, straight up
if i had headphones i'd like for you to turn them up
but i dont so fuck you
word up word up
and theeres somethingsin my celing but i dont remember buying it
i dont remember putting it there
i wonder how it got there, anywhere
and its beating the shit outta my head and its beating the shit outta my brain
shit
beating the shit, shit, shit, shit, shit
but managing to overcome
of being upset with what i've done
it's just the beginning
and when people cant relate
i hold the mistakes
to be great
but my glass is still half full
and the sip is still a mouth full
and i cant open mine untill i swallow
but now i am given time to plan the words thay will follow
and they might be shallow and they might be hollow
(phone rings)
i honestly hate you, that was soo good
(hello,yeah,oh,ok,yeah,yeah,whats up?,oh yeah,'course goobbye)
(actully someones calling me as well)
yo sorry for that interuption
were popular bitches
right right
(my mom called)
so did so did my dad
(laughs)
fuck you bitch
use a trick trick trick trick
yo keep that, keep that, keep that going, keep, keep, keep that going
whos to know untill i let them borrow my voice to get to you
i will tell by the look that your face borrows fromyour brain
or whatever my tone has ordained
shit
the managing to overcome
of being upset with what i've done
it's just the beginning
and when people cant relate
i hold the mistakes i make to be great
but we got a pencil pusher up in here
when we know what to do but we know what to fear
and every time i up and down this block i find what i've found
and maybe later, and maybe later
we can go eat ice cream
but when i find out your favourite color
favourite flavour (flava flave)
i'll fucking punch you in the face (laughs)
but managing to overcome
of being upset with what i've done
it's just the beginning
and when people cant relate
i hold the mistakes i make to be great
i make to be great
i make to be great
i make to be great
word!
yo use a trick, trick, trick, trick
The song "True To Hip Hop" by Aim feat. AG starts off with a confident tone, with the artists proclaiming that they have just produced something new, hoping the listener will enjoy it. The lyrics then take on a more introspective quality, with the singer acknowledging the unknown origin of a noise in their ceiling and the physical discomfort it causes them. The song goes on to address the challenges of being an artist, creating work that people have trouble relating to, and the importance of holding onto and learning from one's mistakes. The artists then seemingly shift the topic to talk about interacting with someone, perhaps romantically, and realizing that they don't know much about them beyond surface-level details. The chorus of the song reinforces the idea of overcoming obstacles and learning from them.
The song's overall theme is about staying true to oneself and persevering through challenges. The artists seem to be addressing both the listener's relationship with hip hop and their own creative struggles. The song can be appreciated both musically and lyrically, as it blends a variety of sounds and textures with thoughtful and honest lyrics.
