Even the Nights Are Better
Air Supply Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I, I was the lonely one
Wondering what went wrong, why love had gone
And left me lonely
I, I was so confused, feeling like I'd just been used
Then you came to me and my loneliness left me

I used to think I was tied to a heartache
That was the heartbreak, but now that I've found you

Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I found you, oh
Even the days are brighter
When someone you love's beside ya
Even the nights are better
Since I found you

You, you knew just what to do
'Cause you had been lonely too
And you showed me how
To ease the pain and
You did more than mend a broken heart
'Cause now you've made a fire start
And I, I can see that you feel the same way

I never dreamed there'd be someone to hold me
Until you told me and now that I've found you
Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I found you, oh
Even the days are brighter
When someone you love's beside ya
Even the nights are better
Since I found you

I never dreamed there'd be someone to hold me
Until you told me and now that I've found you

Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I found you, oh
Even the days are brighter
When someone you love's beside ya

Even the nights are better
Since I found you

Overall Meaning

The song "Even the Nights Are Better" by Air Supply tells the story of a lonely person who was once confused and felt used due to love lost. However, everything changes when someone came into their life and showed them what love truly feels like. The first few lines of the song express the feeling of loneliness and confusion, while the phrase "Then you came to me and my loneliness left me" changes the tone and introduces the person who made a significant impact on the singer's life. The verses continue, with the singer expressing how they used to think they were tied to heartbreak but now that they've found the right person, everything has changed for the better.

The chorus is probably the most recognizable part of the song, as it repeats twice throughout the piece. "Even the nights are better, now that we're here together" signifies that the singer is no longer alone and has found that special someone who makes everything better. The last section of the song talks about how the person knows just what to do because they, too, have been lonely. They were able to mend a broken heart, start a fire, and make the singer feel the same way. The final verse repeats the chorus, emphasizing that even the days are brighter when they are together.

Overall, "Even the Nights Are Better" is a classic love song that expresses the joy and excitement of finding the right person to share your life with. It portrays the feeling of hope that even after experiencing heartbreak, there is still a chance to find true love and happiness.

The simplicity of 2 couples hanging out in an amusement park, with no phones, no technology, no stupid selfies or interruptions make me love this video. I miss a time I never had the chance to live. Love it! The best music ever

Skating rink memories for me. And no we didn't have cell phones back then. If we needed to call our parents we had to use the skating rink pay phone .

@jedijones

I remember my mom being mad when I'd go ride my bike for hours around town without telling her where I was going. It's no fun now when you can't be mischievous because they can call you any time.
