Colours
Airbag Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
’Cause I can’t breathe.
It wasn’t my intention to let things go this far.
All the big ideas I’ve kept inside.
I guess it doesn’t mean that much to you.
Don’t you wanna hear.
Don’t you wanna see.
The colours in my head.
I owe you all you need.
But I’m out of function cold and scared inside.
This fairytale is almost complete.
Like a million lies.
But I guess it doesn’t mean that much to you.
Don’t you wanna hear.
Don’t you wanna see.
The colours in my head.
The colours in my head.
The lyrics of Airbag's song Colours express the feeling of being stuck in a situation where they need someone to help them get out. The singer talks about feeling suffocated and unable to breathe, and they make it clear that they didn't intend for things to end up this way. The singer has kept their big ideas and desires inside, but it seems that these things don't matter much to the person they are speaking to. They ask if the other person wants to hear and see the colours in their head, which are likely a representation of their thoughts and emotions. Despite feeling unable to function and scared inside, the singer still acknowledges that they owe the other person all they need.
The song seems to reflect feelings of helplessness and desperation, with the singer calling out for someone to fix and help them. There is a sense of longing for connection, as well as frustration at feeling unheard and unacknowledged. The reference to a "fairytale" that is almost complete could be interpreted as the hope for a happy ending or resolution to their problems, though this line is quickly followed by a reference to "a million lies," which suggests that the hope may be false or unrealistic.
Overall, Colours is a haunting and emotionally charged song that captures the experience of feeling trapped and unheard. The use of vivid imagery and metaphorical language creates a powerful atmosphere, and it's clear that the lyrics are drawn from deep personal experiences.
