I Go
Aizat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

So long, fare thee well
The dancer and the dancing days have taken leave and fell
So turn down this bed of stone
Quench me with the deadly nightshade from the rose that you belong

The long December rain is falling now
Running down on streets to nowhere
Music is my life - you're my sweetest nightingale
But I can't hear it here no more
And I go... I go

Hush now, don't shake or break
Words have fallen silent like soldiers to the grave
No matter what they do or say
Lay me on the sleepy meadows by the tracks upon your face

The long December rain is falling now
Running down on streets to nowhere
Music is my life - you're my sweetest nightingale
But I can't hear it here no more
And I go... I go

The long December rain is falling now
Running down on streets to nowhere
Music is my life - you're my sweetest nightingale

But I can't hear it here no more
And I go... I go

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Aizat's song "I Go" depict the end of a dancing era, a goodbye to a beloved musician, and a longing for escape. The opening line, "So long, fare thee well," sets the tone for a final goodbye. The "dancer and the dancing days" have come to an end and have "taken leave and fell," suggesting a sense of loss and melancholy. The singer implores for comfort, asking to "turn down this bed of stone" and "quench me with the deadly nightshade from the rose that you belong." The image of deadly nightshade, which is poisonous, evokes a feeling of wanting to escape the present reality.

The lyrics then allude to the rain falling in December, running down "streets to nowhere," further emphasizing a lost and hopeless feeling. The singer declares that "music is my life," but they "can't hear it here no more," a statement that could be interpreted as a reference to the loss of a musician or a deeper yearning for something that has been lost. The repetition of the phrase "and I go" creates a sense of inevitability, as if the singer has no choice but to move forward and leave it all behind.

In the second verse, the lyrics become more personal, calling for the listener to "hush now, don't shake or break." The words have "fallen silent like soldiers to the grave," which again emphasizes loss and sorrow. The singer still finds solace in the presence of the beloved, asking to be "laid on the sleepy meadows by the tracks upon your face," a serene image of escaping reality with someone they love.

Overall, "I Go" is a bittersweet song about the end of a chapter and the longing for something more. Aizat uses poignant images and powerful language to evoke a sense of loss, sorrow, and a need for escape.

I Go / Pergi

So long, fare thee well / Sayu terpisah
The dancer and the dancing days have taken leave and fell / Hikayat indah kini hanya tinggal sejarah
So turn down this bed of stone / Berhembus angin rindu
Quench me with the deadly nightshade from the rose that you belong / Begitu nyamannya terhidu wangian kasih mu

The long December rain is falling now / Hujan lebat mencurah kini
Running down on streets to nowhere / Bagaikan tiada henti
Music is my life - You're my sweetest nightingale / Kaulah laguku - Kau irama terindah
But I can't hear it here no more / Tak lagi ku dengari
And I go / Kau pergi
I go / Pergi

Hush now, don't shake or break / Sepi tanpa kata
Words have fallen silent like soldiers to the grave / Terdiam dan kaku, tak daya kau ku lupa
No matter what they do or say / Apapun kata mereka
Lay me on the sleepy meadow by the tracks upon your face / Biarkan kenangan berbunga di ranting usia

The long December rain is falling now / Hujan lebat mencurah kini
Running down on streets to nowhere / Bagaikan tiada henti
Music is my life - You're my sweetest nightingale / Kaulah laguku - Kau irama terindah
But I can't hear it here no more / Tak lagi ku dengari
And I go / Kau pergi
I go / Pergi
I go / Kau pergi
I go / Pergi
I go / Pergi

Almost 10 years ago this song descend to this world and till now it still have sad aura..my heart really broke when watch the talent time show by yasmin..

PogoBidio!

You have no idea how long i've been searching for this song, it literally tooks forever, first time i heard of it was back when i was a kid and i watched "Talentime" which is about 8 years ago and dont even start on how i manage to find that movie's title. All i remember was that final scene where that boy sing this song on a talent show just after he find out that his sick mother just died, that is probably the most emotional scene i have ever saw, the movie's perfect and this song is beautiful. At first, i thought this was an english song, so i kept on searching it on google, nothing came out, so i gave up. Until recently i came across a busker while i was on my vacation to Malaysia, i heard them play a song which have a very similar music to that Talentime song but in Malay language. So give them a tip, as i asked them what's the name of the song and it was "Pergi". So i search for it on utube and try to find an english version. Turns out it was THE SONG, i'm so happy i found it. And please tell me who's the original singer is. Thank you so much, this brings back much memories of those good old days, it means so much from me, thank u :)
