He is best known for his orchestral theme songs in the Metal Gear Solid series. Honda composed the original soundtrack for "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops" in 2006, along with an additional arrangement track used as the game's main theme, "Calling To The Night". He also helped compose the music for "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker", composing the main themes "Heavens Divide" and "Koi no Yokushiryoku (Love Deterrence)" along with the orchestral theme.

Honda composed the main themes for 2016's "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain", "Sins of the Father" and "Quiet's Theme", with composer Ludvig Forssell providing the lyrics.
