Come Together
Akiko Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
He come groovin' up slowly
He got joo joo eyeballs
He one holy rollers
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker
He just do what he please
He got toe jam football
He got monkey finger
He shoot Coca Cola
He say I know you, you know me
One thing I can tell you is
You got to be free
Come together, right now
Over me
He bad production
He got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard
He one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knees
Hold you in his armchair
You can feel his disease
Come together, right now
Over me
He roller coaster
He got early warning
He got muddy water
He one Mojo filter
He say one and one and one is three
Got to be good looking
Cause he's so hard to see
Come together right now
Over me
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
The opening lines of Akiko's song 'Come Together' refer to a mysterious figure called 'flat top', whose appearance and aura is magnetic - he is slowly grooving his way towards Akiko with 'joo-joo eyeballs' and is a 'holy roller'. The lyrics then go on to describe him as a free spirit who wears no shoes and has interesting items like a 'toe jam football' and a 'monkey finger'. The chorus encourages listeners to come together and be united. The second verse portrays him as a bad boy, with a 'walrus gumboot' and 'Ono sideboard', but he offers comfort and security in his 'armchair'. The final verse describes him as a free soul who is difficult to see but must be a good-looking individual.
The meaning of the lyrics in Akiko's 'Come Together' song is not definitive, but there are several interpretations. Some say it is a call for unity, urging people to come together despite their differences. Others believe that the mysterious figure symbolizes freedom; however, the song has been analyzed as a reflection of the hippie counterculture, which encouraged experimentation with drugs and sexual liberation.
