With their colliding musical stylings, and experimental vocals, Akissforjersey doesn't seek to stand out of the crowd; they tower above it. In the same vain as such progressive artists as The Mars Volta, Akissforjersey pulls two completely different aspects of music together to make one complete genre of its own. The band's music lulls the listener into a carefree utopia one moment only to pull them to the ground with the brutal screams perfectly injected into their melodious songs.
The band announced they had signed to In Vogue records in 2013. They premiered a new song titled "War" off of their upcoming LP "New Bodies" in November 2013. The new album is set to release January 21st, 2014.

The Fire
Akissforjersey Lyrics

I thought I could see you
From each brance as I
Worked my way around
Leaving darling I'm here
Carved in each I passed
Hoping you would admire
My attempt to outlast
Sheet on the line
A fire's coming
And it's coming for
You soon my son
Tell me will
You be ready?
Is my question
To you my love
And I've grown
Accustom to things that
I will never understand
Maybe when I die I can
Come down and put Your
Hand on my shoulder
My heart feels so young
But my bodies getting older
God I'm standing here
With an open heart
A fire's coming
And it's coming for
You soon my son
Tell me will
You be ready?
Is my question
To you my love
The lyrics to Akissforjersey's song "The Fire" express a sense of longing and hope towards a loved one. The singer, from the top of a tree, tries to catch a glimpse of this person whom they lovingly carved words into every branch that they passed. The tree serves as a metaphor for the growth of the relationship, and the writing on the branches as a literal manifestation of the singer's affection.
The following lines anticipate the arrival of a fire, a metaphor for a challenge or crisis. The singer addresses their loved one, asking if they will be ready for it. This question may express concern for the relationship's endurance or for the loved one's well-being. The fire represents a moment of truth, where everything is laid bare, and one must be prepared to face it.
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on their own mortality and on the mysteries of life that they will never fully comprehend. They express a desire to be comforted by a divine presence and to feel that they are not alone in their journey. The final line reinforces this openness by highlighting the singer's vulnerability and willingness to receive love.
