Al Massrieen's sound goes from lush disco like "Sah" to psych rock like "Horreya" or incredible jazz fused pop on songs such as "Edba Mn Gded". The band is hardly known outside Egypt, possibly due to the fact that their releases never have been pressed on vinyl apart from a Greece best of LP.

My dad used to listen to these guys when I was a little kid back in the 80s, and they were my favourite band he liked ... fast forward to 2020 and I realise it's because basically they were the kind of band I still like to listen to today- a kick-ass disco band iwth plenty of funk. Way more funk that anything else more classical he was listening to at the time (Mohamed Abdewahab, Oum Koulsoum, Farid El Atrash etc etc)
