In 1988, Alaine appeared in movie Clara's Heart along side Whoopi Goldberg. Through the late 1990's and early 2000's, Alaine has lived in the United States and has been songwriting and singing back up for Rocafella artists such as Cam'ron and Freeway.
She moved back to Jamaica in the summer of 2004 to focus on her own music after working as an investment banker for JP Morgan and Chase. Alaine later met with Craig "DASECA" Marsh, and started working with him. Their immediate chemistry provided Alaine with her first song on the radio within days of her arrival back to Jamaica.
In 2005, the single "No Ordinary Love" on Don Corleon's Seasons Riddim was a breakthrough single in the Reggae scene, and Alaine was quickly praised for her special talents. The single topped the charts in Jamaica and also charts in the UK. The music video topped the charts on MTV Tempo's Cross Caribbean Countdown for several weeks and became the first video by a female reggae artist to be retired from the countdown on one of Jamaica's biggest video request shows, E-Strip.
Alaine has continued voicing tunes for the last few years for the likes of Don Corleone, dropping nice cuts such as "Heavenly" on the Heavenly Riddim and Sacrifice, her latest single. A music video for the single, directed by top Jamaican director Ras Kassa was recently released. Her other singles "Deeper", "Chaka Chaka Love", "Heavenly", "Wine" and "Love Sound", a duet with Beres Hammond have all done well. "Dreaming of You" (featuring Beenie Man), "Rise In Love" , "I Love You" (featuring Busy Signal) and Sacrifice, among others, are in current rotation across the world.
Alaine has performed at the Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2005 and 2006 to positive reviews. She has also performed in St. Vincent, Tortola, St. Maarten, Cayman, Nevis, St. Croix , St. Thomas (USVI), St. Lucia and the United States. She has been spreading the word about HIV and safe sex to high schools throughout Jamaica, and will be showcased as one of twenty artist in the movie "Made in Jamaica" which is being directed by Jerome Lapperrouzas.
Her upcoming album tentatively titled Sacrifice is slated for release in late January or early February of 2008.
Her voice coupled with her song writing skills perfectly combine to create and unforgettable sound that is all her own.

Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me weak
Baby you
Baby you control my chemistry
Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me, make me, make me weak
Weak, weak, weak in my knees
What what you do to me
This this this can't be real
I used to be so strong
Got got me mesmerized
Go go in out my mind
I'm I'm repeating lines
Repeating lines oh-oh-oh
No one could do me like you
No one could move me like you
No one could ooo me like you
No one, no way oh-oh-oh
No one could know me like you
No one could show me like you
Show me the way true love should be
And baby
Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me weak
Baby you
Baby you control my chemistry
Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me weak
Baby you make me, make me, make me weak
Ooo ooo you turn me on
Can't can't can't wait for long
When when you come around
I have to have you now
Ok, ok I want you only
Love to kiss you
And show you how I missed you baby
Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me weak
Baby you
Baby you control my chemistry
Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me weak
Baby you make me, make me, make me weak
Weak weak losing sleep
You make me so
Weak weak baby keep loving me
Oh-oh-oh
Weak weak losing sleep
You make me so
Weak weak baby keep loving me
Oh-oh-oh

Baby you
Baby you control my chemistry
Baby you
Baby you
Baby you make me weak
Baby you make me, make me, make me weak
In this song, Alaine talks about how her lover has taken over her life completely and how his presence weakens her. The first verse shows how the singer, once a strong and independent individual, has become completely mesmerized by her partner. The chorus uses repetition to emphasise the effect of her lover on her, with "baby you make me weak" being repeated multiple times. The lyrics suggest that the singer cannot control her feelings for her lover and is completely powerless when they are around.
The second verse further emphasises how her lover has taken over her life and how much she needs them. She cannot wait for long for her lover to come around and she needs them now. The singer is completely enamoured with their lover and they want to show them how much they have missed them. The bridge of the song adds to the vulnerability the singer feels, as she talks about losing sleep and needing her lover's love to keep her strong.
Overall, the song is about the intense feelings of love and how it can weaken a once strong individual when they find the person they love. The lyrics emphasise the singer's complete submission to their lover, making them weak in the knees and losing sleep over their presence.
