So I stumbled upon this because I wanted to improve my Italian and am very interested in European current events. I'm always on the look out for contemporary authors who write on political and economic themes I am interested in. Question, why Italian? I will say that for Americans, one hardly finds journalists and authors in this field who are proficient enough in a foreign language to be able to debate convincingly with native speakers. Where did Friedman pick up/learn Italian?
