I remember me and my brother was watching this on public TV late one night.
And I remember the birthday sketch.
Where a man was told to make a wish and blow out his candles on his cake in a fancy restaurant.
And in an instant there was a naked lady standing there uncensored!
that surprised the hell out of me as a kid.
And I remember my brother was sitting next to me saying let's not let Mama find out about this show.
It's our secret.
But anyway the sketches on the show were very funny.
He was a good comedian.

@Tuco Ramirez Ah but remember what the Doctor as played Peter Capaldi said. “Hell is just heaven for bad people.”

In my later teens, when life at home was chaotic and dangerous, I'd find Dave Allen at Large on the telly. He'd be on very late at night, and I'd stay up to hear every word--often at the expense of waking up in time to catch the school bus. Comedy was what kept me sane, and Mr. Allen has my deepest and warmest appreciation and thanks for helping me through those dark times.
