I love this show- I love the characters- and I wish they could go on forever. I know that’s not possible and I feel like “family “programming has taken a dive lately but Tim Allen gives such a great performance as a down to earth dad who cares about family and family values and I love that. I always liked how the old Mandy character was able to evolve into a successful entrepreneur while still pulling off a goofiness that made sense. If that makes any sense. I was upset that the new Mandy was so dialed back, the character regressed. Always loved the vlogs. Amazing writers!

But they regressed Mandy's character. So it's unfair to blame the actress. Molly was fabulous indeed. Shame she quit. She took the wrong side out of social pressure, which never adored her as the fans of the show did.

@Beda Hobbs yeah but it's not like that. They just chopped Mandy's good things & gave it away. Her successful female entrepreneur attitude was given to Kristin, working mom. Her wardrobe & chiq attitude scenes where given to Jen.

The new actress was left just to be goofy & date Kyle. She pulled off the goofiness well, and the Kyle relationship which Molly-Christoph duo were excellent at was always hard to replace esp w/o building it coz writers build relationship over seasons, She did that decently.

I just like the show from start to finish. The last episode kind of felt “odd” the way it just abruptly ended the show. I like just about everything Tim Allen has been in. Great actor surrounded by others putting out a great show.

The original Mandy will always have a special place in my heart and in my opinion she isn't replaceable. I don't mind the new actress playing her, but it lost something without Molly. As for the first girl who played the oldest Daughter "Kristin" (Alexandra) the reason I like her better is because she looks like she could actually be the sister of the other two girls. Having said that I like Amanda (the current Kristin) and I take to her better than the Mandy replacement. I just thought Alexandra had a better fit, and I thought she was quite adorable as well. Love the youngest Daughter and I am glad she wasn't replaced but instead used a little less on the show because she found other work.

Agree, agree, agree. The eldest girl first played by Alexandra really did look like she could be the daughter of her parents on the show. Very believable. The replacement, Amanda Fuller, is very clearly NOT related to her parents. Molly Ephraim with her black hair is stretching her believability of being a daughter. But maybe, maybe. Kaitlyn Dever could easily be a real daughter too. I know the show is made up fiction fantasy. But it is better if the fiction is somewhat believable.

Katlin Deever is pretty amazing - making time for this old show when she can to appear for a few episodes. That is so unusual in the industry today - and it shows how the cast must get along for her to want to come back as time permits. ABC canceled it for political reasons. With 10 million viewers it was highly rated. Today it still get 9 million viewers on average and it is still a highly rated show on FOX.

Kaitlin Denver is an outstanding actress who in my humble opinion will win multiple Oscars. Really that good! Glad they are smart enough on this show that they let her spread her wings and she’s nice enough to come back to a show and cast that she appreciates.

I absolutely adore Amanda Fuller! Losing Molly Ephraim was tough for me to get over and I supported Molly McCook for stepping in and up. Caitlin Dever is a Trooper and I'm glad she appears. As a liberal, I love this show because it's one of the rare ones that I believe represents both sides equally. I love the debates between the characters about politics. It's enjoyable to learn about both sides belief in things while being entertained.

Yeah, no it was pretty clear why it was. It was one of the top-rated shows with steady and healthy viewing numbers. It was pulled because Hollywood hates anything that disturbs their narrative; and since Mike Baxter is a character that is clearly a conservative, white, heterosexual, Christian male means he had to go away. It was the fans that brought that show back. I’m actually quite surprised it did.

Christopher Laughlin The comedy is pretty evenhanded as these things go.If it was just another pro-liberal all the time kind of thing they wouldn't have gotten Tim Allen and it would have been two seasons and done. If it was just in your face pro-conservatism it wouldn't be as good as it is. Tims character (Mike) has mellowed and Jordans (Ryan) has actually had to become a grown up and realize you have to work for stuff and life ain't fair. Fairly well crafted arcs for a sitcom. All the characters have grown on this show.

I liked both Mandys. I felt the new Mandy had better chemistry with Kyle her husband. I mean both of them were great at their respective roles, but stuff happens. My only real question is how a show can be the second highest rated on a network and dropped. I like this show. It is an opportunity to showcase valid but different viewpoints. Maybe it could bridge people on different sides of the political aisle, and help them realize that the other side are not mustache twirling Disney villains but people who have a different opinion of what will help the people and nation as a whole. I honestly thought the episode where Ryan was forced to understand that sometimes big government and regulation can get in the way of growing a business for the benefit of the customers and employees was great. I thought it was interesting that Tim had a instance where he wanted someone in the US illegally to stay. Challenging preconceived notions and allowing people to humanize others with different viewpoints is critical for a nation to unite as a whole in a positive way.

I love Last Man Standing! I think Amanda Fuller has filled the role of Kristin extremely well. I love the relationships between Mike Baxter and Ryan, who seem to be coming to a mutual acceptance and understanding of each other. I miss the old Mandy terribly, no one can do Mandy better than Molly Ephraim, but I give Molly McCook points for at least trying. Love and miss Katelyn Dever, she is another one who cannot be replaced. I love Vanessa too, she holds the family together.

Molly in the role of Mandy was a true anomaly, she was portrayed as self centered and stupid, but that kid had a heart of gold that they showed several times. It helped that she looked amazingly like a young Elizabeth Taylor.

They shouldn't have re-cast Mandy. They should have had her accepted to design school in New York and focused more on the foreign exchange student. They could have even had a different one each year or two with them popping in from time to time for holidays. You just can't replace Mandy/Molly.

We continue to watch it daily - we can almost recite the words! Yes, there were a lot of changes, but the main theme of the show stayed - I was amazed at how Mike evolved himself over the 9 seasons - in fact in almost every show, he started with his own opinion and by the end, he was working to help others. Hysterical! Yes, the old Mandy leaving was tough - but the actors had to do something to make money. We finish watching Season 9, then go back to Season 1 and watch again! This was inciteful as to why the show was cancelled from ABC.

There were reports when Krosney didn't return for season 2 that it was over creative differences. The writers wanted to do stories with Boyd's father trying to get back into their lives, and it would be assumed that Krosney felt the single mother angle was more compelling. Which probably also relates to why they replaces Nick Jonas. They needed a recurring guest, and he probably couldn't commit to that.

I loved eve in the first few seasons. Not sure why they did some character changes to her. I did miss the original Mandy.
While I didn't agree with Tim Allen's politics, I thought that the way they portrayed opinions in the show felt understandable. You got to see different people's perspectives and also saw that, you don't always agree with everything your political affiliation stands for. It wasn't us vs them. It was these are my views based on my life experiences and what worked for me, and now through new people, etc, some have changed while others stayed the same. It had the same feel as early Rosanne.

The only cast replacement that bothered me was the replacement of Mandy the middle daughter. I liked Amanda for taking over the role as the older daughter. I think she took the role very well and she was definitely easy on the eyes. But they went to far off of what Mandy was with the new version. Completely changed her look. And it wasn’t a subtle change either. But the biggest problem that I had was that the actress who played her and the one that played her boyfriend/husband had no chemistry. The original Mandy I had tons of chemistry with him. They fit together like a hand in a glove. The new actress just looks wrong with him and you could tell that a lot of it was forced. I love the show. And I always believe that it was Tim Allen’s politics that got it fired/canceled to begin with. I happen to be a pro Republican just like Tim. And most shows today I have a strong liberal lien. It was refreshing to see a show that had a conservativeEdge to it. I think it’s been canceled again on Fox however. I have not seen it in a long time. Almost a year. I’m just curious as to what has happened.

I love this show!! My mom and I have been binge watching it every night after work and can't get enough. I loved the original Mandy and, while I think the new one is a good actress, I miss the original. I loved the way she brought the character to life and the new one just feels like ... well ... like how Vanessa is the typical 'blonde bimbo' sometimes. Mandy, while not as smart as her sisters, seemed genuine and loveable. Now the new Mandy is the epitome of the blond bimbo joke.

I liked the original Kristin but have no problem with the one who now plays her. They're right, the original seemed really young at times - especially since she was supposed to be the oldest.

When they changed to Amanda in season 2, I had no problem. However, the day Molly Ephraim was no longer in the show, it killed it for me. The cast started to either slowly disappear or just straight up got replaced. I enjoyed every single episode up until season 8. It's not the same anymore. I use to legit find laughter when the OG cast was there, it was such a nice show my mum and I were watching but even she admits to this. Molly and Kaitlyn was such a huge part of the show and now everything just feels forced. It felt natural when the original cast was there and I miss that. I still don't like the mandy replacement, that little girl from Dr Ken and and just all those other changes.

I am in love with this show. However I hated the fact that they changed the character Mandy Baxter. I am still not used to Molly Mccook cause she ain't really selling it. The character change of Carol did not sting me as much but it would be nice to see her for just one more episode. Isn't Kaitlyn Dever the best, she really loved last man standing as much as we did that she is not ready to say goodbye to us. She is my favourite character alongside the famous Mike Baxter. If those two would leave the show it wouldn't be the same. This is an amazing show for it does not hold back, they stand their ground and are not afraid to speak. I am really looking forward to the future seasons.

Ryan was the only changed actor i thought was better after the change. I started the show in season 3 and went back to watch the old episodes. So even though Amanda Fuller was the Kristen I started with, I preferred the first actress better. MUCH better. When they canceled the show I was bummed. It was something I shared with my mom. When they brought it back we got really excited but when Molly Ephraim didn't come back as Mandy, I couldn't do it any more. I got halfway through the first episode and turned it off. Such a shame, but such is life.

ABC aired the show but it was always owned by Fox, and when you pay for production of a show that you don’t own the ratings needs to be better than what season 6 had on ABC. Same reason Fox cancelled Brooklyn 99. It was an NBC owned show.

I loved original Mandy, but Molly McCook pleasantly surprised me in her first episode. I was ready to be won over, but it seemed like the writing changed over time to make her the stereotypical "dumb blonde" instead of a three-dimensional character. It's more of a writing issue. Plus, fans having an emotional attachment to original Mandy and a prejudice against new Mandy that's tough for the show to overcome as well when fans weren't really willing to accept a new actress.

Amanda Fuller does a great job as Kristan but Molly McCook as Mandy is too different from the original. Kaitlyn Dever was great as Eve.

Awesome show. Love it. As for the Charactors, i love the original Mandy and not so much the new one. Wont keep me from watching the show of course as i dont hate her at all, she is just a vast different person for the look, she is very tall and just dont have the same vibes and the character isn't the same. I still like the original Kristen as well but got used to the replacement.
The show still rocks. I dont care about the political premise, its part of the fun of the show. Lighten up people.

I do miss Molly Ephraim! Having watched her from Season 1, she really is Mandy. Molyy McCook has done has done a great job but when you have a main character change it is never easy to get used to.

I love Tim Allen and Last Man Standing. I agree with most that the new Mandy is a disaster. I honestly think it is the actress herself that just can’t deliver the Mandy personality. She is just awkward. We know the writing is great from the previous characters. Just find a new Mandy ! Please!!!

I agree 100% she can't pull off the natural airhead or ditzyness it shows she struggles doing it. They should just change the personality all together then. Which I do also agree Molly Ephram is a much better option.

Never watched the show but i was a kid when Home improvement was a huge show so i was a Tim Allen fan and was just wondering how this show has lasted so long since i thought i was cancelled long ago. That all said besides the random characters that were only on the show for a couple of episodes (shows re-cast those kind of parts a lot) i was still shocked at how many changes were made over the shows run and cannot believe it kept going , it must have had a really strong core fan base. I can't think of another show that if this video is right as actually being main characters and doing that much swapping. Then again Tim's other big show did also make some role changes also.

you see here's the thing, Yes Molly Ephraim did leave the show and the producers replaced her with someone different. I get it everyone loves Molly Ephraim and I do as well. Now that being said any new actor that comes to replace the original actor to me, I give them a chance to see what they can bring to a character that is already well known and loved. Molly McCook does a good job playing Mandy.

The problem with this show was they cast everything so perfectly and people leaving there's no way you can 100% replace people who'd been there for 6 years understand replacing the oldest daughter in the 1st season because they wanted boid to be older so they wanted an actress who looked apart that's fine I had no problems with that but Mandy and Eve leaving the show Especially when Caitlin Dever had the bulk of the lines for someone who is a supporting cast member she had the lines and the camera time
Even though she said her character was totally the opposite there was absolutely no way you could replace that and once that happened the show stopped being funny the last 3 seasons of the show were very painful because they all looked like they were just going through the motions for the sake of doing seasons 7 8 and 9 there was no Consistency with any of the story lines it was boring it stopped being funny

I love this show. It's nice to see viewpoints different from mine but in not so extreme ways. I'm glad it's back but Molly Ephraim was my favorite, obviously after Tim Allen. Go Michigan!

I think the show itself is great but I hate when they replace characters with new people. It rarely ever works. No matter how good or bad the new Mandy is she never stood a chance. Molly Ephraim created Mandy. Her personality, mannerisms, look and relationships to other characters (especially Kyle) so no one could affectively fill her shoes. They would’ve been better off writing her out of the show. The first Kristen replacement even had backlash but we were able to get past the change because the 2nd Kristen ended up developing the character more than the first because she had more time. I think it was dumb in their part to give Carol Larabee a new character. Since she wasn’t a main character she would be easy to write out if needed

Actually I got a kick with the new Mandy. The jokes about her change in appearance were wonderful and a kind of a shot at ABC who's cancellation was responsible for the shakeup and we all knew it was politics. The networks will learn that they aren't the bully boys they once were. Plenty of channels out there and smart sitcoms these days are retaining the rights to their shows so they aren't entirely at the mercy of a single channel.

I loved the show and the characters.Tim Allen I have always loved whoever the character was. I miss him on TV or the movies. All the characters were great. Would rather have tim Allen in a series so I could see him every week. He is hilarious!

I miss the original Mandy and we love Tim Allen so we never missed an episode and we watch reruns all the time waiting on that new season.The real shame is that the 2021 Season will be the LAST SEASON because it’s Not coming back again. The BEST SHOW ON TV will only be available in reruns.😢😪

Eve is easily my favorite character. I wish she could be in on a more steady basis, I dont watch nearly as often as I used to.

I disagree with what many have said about Molly McCook. I think she is GREAT in the role. She adapted the mannerisms of her predecessor in the role, while adding her own twist. She is also BEAUTIFUL, just like her real-life Mom Laurette Spang (Cassiopeia from 1978 Battlestar Galactica, and who also appeared on many TV shows). The original actress moved on to other things. Molly McCook faced a unique challenge when she assumed the role of an.established fan favorite actress and character. She is GREAT in my book!

Last Man Standing was cancelled because of Tim Allen's politics. Fans loved the show, and Fox saw a ratings winner.

Me and my husband’s favorite show in a very very long time! Love the political slant, so unusual in Hollyweird. So very sad it’s canceled. Enjoy the reruns on now, and looking forward to as few new shows.

My favorite show. Miss Molly and where in the world can I find a show that feels like it’s “my kind of people “. Will miss how “Mike and “Chuck” make fun of each other. This show made it okay to be different and we could still be good with each other. Too many today are creating hatred with their extreme language and agendas.
