One Fine Day
Alastair Binks Lyrics

For a sign of heavens grace
But the light was just to brilliant
And the source to hard to trace
Everything just seems so scripted
Nothings left to choose
Crowds of people stand in line
One fine day, when gravitys been lifted
And heavy things stopped falling from the sky
And the shape, of history has shifted
Far from here in this moment, far from now
Youre still fighting off your memory
But you just cant find the cure
Blind man pulls you gently closer
And stares you right straight in the eye
He says dont fall back dont get too lost now
Sometimes it takes time
The lyrics of Alastair Binks’s song One Fine Day portray a beautiful and philosophical image of the struggle to find purpose and meaning in life. The song starts with the image of someone gazing at the sky in search of a sign of hope or a higher power. The singer of the song seems to be seeking guidance and direction as they feel lost in the world that feels too controlled and led by fate. The sky that they are looking towards is too bright and the source of light too complex to be understood. This is a metaphor for the intangible and overwhelming nature of the universe, making it feel as though answers to life questions are elusive.
The second verse of the song tells us about the scripted nature of life, where people feel like they have no control over their lives but follow a predetermined path. The crowds of people that come and go reflect the impersonal nature of social experience when everyone is just trying to get a better view of the situation. The chorus of the song is instructive and hope-giving. It tells us that despite the overwhelming and scripted nature of our existence, we can still hope for a day when things will change. A day when the heavy burdens of life will be lifted, history rewritten, and everything we know will no longer matter.
Overall, the song captures the essence of the human experience in a philosophical and emotional way. It acknowledges the struggle to find meaning while giving hope to those who feel lost.

Well I saw you looking skyward
I observed you gazing upwards
For a sign of heavens grace
In search of some indication of divine benevolence
But the light was just too brilliant
The radiance was excessively intense
And the source too hard to trace
And the origin too challenging to discern
Everything just seems so scripted
The entirety appears like an orchestrated performance
Nothings left to choose
No selections remain available
Crowds of people stand in line
Multitudes queue up together
Just to get a better view
Solely to obtain an improved perspective
One fine day, when gravitys been lifted
One day, when gravitation is absent
And heavy things stopped falling from the sky
And massive objects ceased descending from the heavens
And the shape, of history has shifted
And the form of the past has altered
Far from here in this moment, far from now
Distant from this occasion, remote from the future
Youre still fighting off your memory
You are still resisting your past recollections
But you just cant find the cure
Yet you are unable to locate the solution
Blind man pulls you gently closer
Sightless individual draws you nearer with tenderness
And stares you right straight in the eye
And fixes their gaze directly onto your eyes
He says dont fall back dont get too lost now
He utters, 'do not withdraw, do not become excessively disoriented now'
Sometimes it takes time
Occasionally, an extended duration is necessary
