Thank you for pointing out how stupid the new Boston Strangler movie was for making it more about feminism and women empowerment than about the facts. All these new movies just paint men out to be incompetent a-holes than anything else. In the new movie, I felt the most bad for her husband! The poor guy worked his butt off, took care of the children and the home, and he’s painted as this patriarchal jerk who’s trying to stop his wife’s success, rather than her for being selfish and narcissistic, and not helping with her home, children, or supporting her husband.

Hi Pat, thanks for profiling this case.
I wish there would have been a trial, so we could have examined the LE evidence. I think that the fact that the DNA (if correct) ties him to the last victim, Mary Sullivan, and the M.O is similar in nearly all the other crime scenes, we have a pretty good suspect for all 13 kills.
I wrote in the chat that it might have been a pure coincidence that the victims were in a rather large age range.. because as DeSalvo said in his interrogation, that he just entered a building and if there was a door sign with a single woman’s name, he would use his methods of the measuring man, green man or other ways to get access to the woman’s apartment.
So if he just randomly got access without knowing who the woman was, it would be total coincidence that the first ones were ‘elderly’ and starting from Sophia Clark they were young women. And this would also give good reason as to why there were 2 ‘elderly’ victims in between the younger women.

Thanks, Benny, for your support and I am glad you liked the show. The victim selection has so many variables it is hard to say. It could be just that role of the dice. It could be that he chose not to victimize certain people at the time he went into their homes. He might simply have walked away. I think the victimology is the best we have for pushing for two killers, but, I still find it very odd to have such a similar MO and someone especially DeSalvo suddenly thinking, “Ah, I will move on to murder now that I can be a copycat.” Just not sure that rings right to me with this guy.

Yeah, I rather hate that term as it is used! When I see it in the news, I always check to see if they are talking about someone in their 60s (me) or someone in their 90s)! Then, I guess, each decade, I will still refuse to accept being in the elderly category!

Yeah, it could, but it would have been unlikely. Someone also suggested that maybe the murder excited DeSalvo so he broke into the apartment the day or two after the crime and masturbated at the scene. Again, possible, but not probable. If the DNA is accurate, the likeliest scenario is that DeSalvo committed the crime.
