The lyrics of "La Sedia di Lilla" by Alberto Fortis tell the story of a man who is lying in bed, with non-existent legs and a wound on his mouth that hinders his smile. He speaks resignedly, with the tongue of someone who still hopes but knows that he is booked for the "Sedia di Lilla". Every time he laughs, his lips tear, and the taste that comes out of his mouth is bitter. His wrinkles are made of cement and they are red, but they are quickly diluted by a clear drop. He deliriously tells the listener that he thinks too much about his future, and that he is afraid that his plans will change in the next year. He warns the listener not to make the same mistake, telling them to live in the moment and enjoy the simple things, like picking lilies.
The man becomes increasingly agitated and talks about how many friends have betrayed him for love. When the singer visits the man's house with lilies, he finds out that the man has gone out for a walk. However, he sees a shadow hanging and swinging on the Sedia di Lilla, and concludes that the shadow did not want to sit on the chair. The lyrics are poignant and sad, exploring themes of mortality, regret, and the search for meaning and happiness in life.
