1)Alchemist is a progressive death metal band from Canberra, Australia. The band was formed in 1987 by Adam Agius (lead vocals/guitar), eventually teaming up with the present line up of Roy Torkington (guitar), Rodney Holder (drums/percussion) and John Bray (bass) which has been together since 1992. Since 2003, Alchemist has also featured a fifth member in Nick Wall, who provides samples for live shows.
The band announced in June 2005 that they were releasing a compilation album entitled Embryonics; this was released in late October. It covers material released between 1993 to 1998, including material from the first three albums, the 1998 EP release and demo material. Bonus tracks include two songs recorded live on the radio in 1996. The band is also working on a DVD, which will be released in 2006.
The band is also responsible for organizing Australia's largest heavy metal music festival Metal For The Brain held every year in Canberra . They are the only band to have played at every one held since its inception in 1991. 2006 marked the final Metal For The Brain event.
2) Alchemist is also Nikolai Krinitski a Russian born musician. Has dedicated himself to music for the last seventeen years. His main education involved cello and later piano at the Moscow Conservatoire. Also in RCM (Royal College of Music) composition and orchestration and arrangement. In early 2003 Nikolai became interested in synthesis and music production. Three years and 160 tracks later he has found his 'home straight', concentrating mostly on IDM and Breakbeat.
Being of a 'classical' background Nikolai puts big emphasis on the melodic line and structure of the piece. Rhythm is a big feature in every track, being erratic, broken and with the use of unconventional drum-programming and sound quality. That creates very special auras all the way throughout the piece.
Nikolai has 3 projects; one under his own moniker Nikolai Krinitski, secondly, as Aphrodite and lastly as Alchemist (his latest incarnation). Nikolai has been signed to WLM since 2006
3) Formed in 2008. Released "Flesh to be Broken" EP in 2012.
4) Alchemist is less commonly known as a Thrash Metal band from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
5) Alchemist is an incorrect tag for rapper and producer The Alchemist .

Alchemist Lyrics

Does it hold any meaning as I reach the end?
Lost to memory, final reality.
When I'm awake or asleep both are all but a dream.
Finality of this life is something certain for me.
Lost to memory, final reality.
Sifting fragments of time, drifting, falling away.
Sense of finality, fate is dawning on me.
Feel I'm lying awake, only sleep when I'm dead.
Lost to memory, final reality.
Compressed memories.
I'm temporary, unable to contain.
Like Epsilon, my finality is pointing out the way.
What have I learned?
What will I forget?
Monumental rhythm of life is pounding out the beat of the dead,
but might it all end, without a meaning?
Lost to memory, final reality.
Speed Of Life
Each day grows quicker as I breathe.
Or is it that every year seems to get shorter?
Racing at the speed of life.
So much to do, so little time.
I don't want to win this race.
Heading swiftly to my grave.
Epidermis showing signs of natural decay from living my life.
No way to slow the hands of time.
Of this I am sure you live, then you die.
From infancy to my old age.
Another day of life.
Another turn of the page.
Racing at the speed of life.
So much to do, so little time.
Heading swiftly to my grave.
Is it only me, is it all in my head?
Rather a fight to ascend than an easy descent.
Do you ever get the feeling you're in some sort of race?
Each day has more to offer, there's just no time to play.
One mine I'm a child, the next I am a man.
And fate, it pushes my life, the fastest speed it can.
The lyrics of Alchemist's song "Epsilon" delve into the existential questions of life, death, and the passage of time. The singer questions the purpose of their existence and whether their life holds any meaning as they approach the end. They struggle with the concept of finality and how it relates to memory and reality, wondering if everything they have experienced will one day be forgotten. These thoughts are juxtaposed with a sense of urgency and a feeling of racing against time, as the singer feels like they are in a perpetual race towards their own death. Despite this feeling of inevitability, there is a sense of ambiguity as to whether there is any real meaning to this rush towards the end.
In the second half of the song, the singer continues to grapple with the fleeting nature of life and the sense of racing against the clock. They express a desire to slow down and appreciate the present moment, rather than constantly striving towards an uncertain future. The lyrics also touch on the idea of fate and how it pushes one's life towards its final destination. There is a sense of confusion as the singer questions whether this sense of racing towards death is real or simply a construct of their own mind.
Overall, the song's lyrics are a poignant reflection on the human experience, our perception of time, and the meaning of existence.
