SPARK
Aleixa Lyrics

I've got a knife that's ready to take the plunge
I've got a knife that's ready for marriage
I've got a knife that wants to have some fun
I've got a life that ain't worth living
I've got alife that I wanna give back
I know you'll be better off without me
free me...cause life has lost its spark...
it's late at night and I'm all alone again
it's late at night and no one's around
I can't hear your voice calling out to me
there's too much pain baby there's too much pain
I wish you'd come to take it all away
I wish you'd come and make me all right
I just wanna lay me down to sleep
there's too much pain oh God there's too much pain
free me...cause life has lost its spark...
In Aleixa's song Spark, the artist sings about her inner struggles and the pain she's experiencing in her life. She compares herself to a knife, ready to take the plunge and make a drastic change in her life. The metaphor symbolizes her willingness to turn her life around, but also her destructive nature. The line "I've got a life that ain't worth living" shows the depth of her pain and despair. Aleixa feels like she has nothing to live for and wishes she could give her life back.
Furthermore, Aleixa acknowledges the reality that her loved ones would be better off without her because of the pain she causes them. The pain she feels is so great that she wishes someone would take it away, but admits that the pain is within herself. She feels alone and calls out to her loved ones, but nobody is around to comfort her. The repetition of the phrase "there's too much pain baby there's too much pain" shows the magnitude of her emotional pain.
Lastly, the phrase "life has lost its spark" is the centerpiece of the song. Aleixa reveals that she's lost her passion for life and is looking to reignite it. She wants to break free from the pain and despair in her life and find her spark again. The song showcases Aleixa's emotional depth and her ability to convey her innermost feelings through her music.
