Aiono continued to work on his music and contribute regularly to his video channel while also pursuing acting, and starred in the web series Royal Crush, which began its run in 2014. Some of his most popular song covers around that time included the Weeknd's "The Hills" and Shawn Mendes' "Stitches," both posted in 2015. That year, he also appeared in the web series Guidance. In the spring of 2016, Aiono had his biggest web hit yet with his mashup of Drake's "One Dance" and Nicky Jam's "Hasta el Amanecer." 2017 saw Aiono issue a trio of infectious singles in "Work the Middle," "Question," and "Hot2Touch," the latter of which charted throughout Europe. To close out the year, he delivered the EP Does It Feel Like Falling, as well as "One at a Time," a collaborative single with T-Pain. Wasting little time, Aiono kicked off 2018 with the hooky "Thinking About You."
Man in the Mirror

For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a diference
Gonna make it right
As I, turn up the collar on
My favorite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
With not enought to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs
A summer disregard, a broken bottle top
And a one man soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah)
I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone
A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream (washed-out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (oh yeah)
I'm asking him to change his ways (better change)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
You gotta get it right, while you got the time
'Cause when you close your heart you can't close your, your mind
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (oh yeah)
I'm asking him to change his ways (better change)
No message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make the change
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (oh yeah)
I'm asking him to change his ways (better change)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make that change
(Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah)
Got to make that change, today (man in the mirror)
It's gonna feel real good (come on)
You got start with yourself
You got (make that change)
Got make that move today or never (man in the mirror))
You got to stand up, stand up, stand up
Yeah, I said (yeah, make that change)
Got to make that change, today or never (man in the mirror)
You know it, You know it, You know it, You know it (change)
Make that change
In Alex Aiono's song "Man in the Mirror," the singer expresses their realization that they need to make a change in the world, starting with themselves. The singer acknowledges the social issues they see around them, such as poverty and brokenness, and realizes that they cannot turn a blind eye to these problems any longer. As the singer puts on their favorite winter coat, the wind blows their mind and they can no longer ignore the suffering of others. The singer recognizes that they have been a victim of a selfish love and need to take responsibility for their actions and make a positive difference in the world.
The chorus of the song, "I'm starting with the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer, if you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and then make a change," emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility and self-reflection. The song urges listeners to take action in their own lives and make a positive impact on the world.
