Born Alfredo Sánchez Luna in Caracas, Venezuela, Sadel was affectionately called "The Favorite Tenor of Venezuela". He adopted his stage name by combining the last syllable of his surname with the last syllable of the surname of his favorite idol, tango singer Carlos Gardel. According to musician Aldemaro Romero, Sadel became Venezuela's heart-throb due to his huge popularity with the feminine audience. Being in the peak of his popularity he was shown to the doors of Hollywood, but convinced of his conditions for the bel canto, he went to Europe to cultivate his spirit through the serious music, studying in important conservatories, to devote himself to the opera and zarzuela genres.
The means meanness certain and his political affinity carried difficulties to him in his country. Nevertheless, he was acclaimed. He made films in Cuba and Mexico next to Graciela Naranjo and Amador Bendayán, among other important Venezuelan artists.
Sadel died in Caracas, Venezuela, at age of 59.
Ella
Alfredo Sadel Lyrics

Me canse de rogarle
Me canse de decirle
Que yo sin ella
De pena muero.
No quizo escucharme
Fue pa′decirme, ya no te quiero,
Yo senti que mi vida
Se perdia en un avismo
Profundo y negro
Como mi suerte,
Quise allar el olvido
Al estilo jalisco
Pero aquellos mariachis
Y aquel tequila
Me hicieron llorar.
Me canse de rogarle
Con el llanto en los ojos
Alse mi copa y brinde por ella
No podia despreciarme
Era el ultimo brindis
De un bohemio por una reina.
Los mariachis callaron
De mi mano sin fuerza
Cayo mi copa sin darme cuenta
Ella quizo quedarse
Cuando vio mi tristeza
Pero ya estaba escrito
Que aquella noche muriera su amor.
The lyrics of the song "Ella" by Alfredo Sadel depict the agony of a man who is unable to convince his lover to stay with him. He pleads with her, he cries for her, but she doesn't want to listen to him. The pain he feels is so intense that he thinks his life is falling into an abyss. However, the man tries to forget his sorrows through the Mexican way of embracing sorrow: drinking and singing with the mariachi band. But instead of finding solace, he ends up crying more.
In the end, the man realizes that his love is truly lost. He raises his glass for the last time to his queen, knowing that he will never be able to convince her to stay. His heart is broken, and even the mariachi band, which has been accompanying his misery, falls silent. The woman shows some sympathy for his pain, but it is too late. The song "Ella" is a portrayal of unrequited love that shows that sometimes a person must realize that the love they have is gone, and it is better to move on.
