The song "Ghazab Kiya" by Ali Sethi is a beautiful ghazal that explores the theme of trust in the context of a broken promise. The repeated line "Tere waaday pe tere waaday pe" which means "On your promise, on your promise" signifies the trust that the singer has put in the person who made a promise to them.
In the chorus, the singer expresses their disbelief and astonishment at the broken promise by repeating "Ghazab kiya" which means "How amazing" or "How incredible". The singer also talks about waiting for the promised meeting with anticipation, and the wait has now turned into waiting for the end of the world (Qayamat ka intezar).
The lyrics of the song move back and forth between the disbelief and the hurt caused by the broken promise. The singer also questions what was gained by breaking the promise and causing harm to the world. The song ends with the reminder of the trust placed in the promise, and the hurt caused by its betrayal.
Overall, the song is a poignant exploration of the impact of broken promises and the trust we put in the people who make them.
