Sirens
Aliases Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Talk, talk to those
Those who believe all your white lies
Everything you spread through word you rape
Walk, walk with those
Who follow you in your drone
I can't recall myself the way you lie
Sounding so perfect, pulled apart so easily
Have you ever tried to be you?
They fall on deaf ears
Lost in the sirens voices
Have you ever tried to listen
Noises so clear through all
All these whispers whistling
Brought it upon yourself, the way you act
Some I could accept with half of your smile
Have you ever tried to be real?
No matter what you say
Nothing will make you different
Words count more than I could pretend
What you say doesn't make sense anyway
I'm still a ghost of yesterday
Forgotten words won't reach me
All what you say does not make sense anyway

Words will never reach me
I'm still a ghost

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Aliases's song Sirens are an expression of frustration with and rejection of the words and actions of a person who is not genuine. The opening lines of the song express the disbelief and rejection of the lies that are being spread by the individual in question, who has succeeded in convincing others of the validity of their falsehoods. The song seems to express a sense of disappointment with the way in which this individual has manipulated their followers and has been able to convince them of the truth of their lies.

The chorus of the song speaks to the impact that these lies have had on those who have been deceived; they have been rendered deaf to the truth, lost in the siren voices of the false prophet. The lyrics of the song suggest that the individual who is lying is doing so to maintain or enhance their own power, and that the only way for them to truly be heard would be to own up to their falsehoods and be their authentic selves. The repeated refrain of "Words will never reach me/I'm still a ghost" at the end of the song seems to suggest that the singer has come to accept that they will never be able to reach this person, but that they will continue to try.

@xydex99

But he does write the riffs doesn't he? It has to sound similar to SikTh.

@VOLiTiANBand

I came for the chorus, I stayed for the adverts

@TrumMarc

@ReflectedZero check up SikTh instead considering Aliases basicly consists of SikTh, it makes more sence, in the same way Monuments reminds you of FellSilent

@dekdcd

is the vocalist from fellsilent?

@goatesque

Nope. It would make better sense to argue that Fell Silent are a rip off of SikTh, but I think they have pretty distinct sounds.
