9) Alice, Alice burst onto the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts hardcore and screamo scene early in 2006. Two years and two new members later, the 5 piece band is reaching the peak of their creativity and punishing crowds with their brutal, yet melodic live act. Yeugene Barokha provides the lead vocals and tickles the ivories of the keyboard, Jeff Brown and Roger duel on the axes, Dan Hetu lays down the powerfully tight bass lines, and Bobby Malice bangs out the beats with utter abandon. Combining all these elements results in something much greater than just the sum of its parts. Alice believes they owe every bit of success to their fans, and pours every ounce of energy into every second of their music to pay them back. myspace.com/alicerock1

Bazar
Alice Lyrics

la piazza e tutta la città
se parlo forte mi ascolto
e l'alba mi accarezzerà.
Bevo acqua ossigenata
prendo una pipa mi stendo sull'erba
e fumo oppio al largo del Bazar.
Scatolette, surgelati
come le mosche che volano a strati
voglio respirare a questa età.
Due dita a un palmo dal naso
io gioco a tombola in un club "in"
considerando l'imbroglio
sto al gioco forse servirà.
Bevo acqua ossigenata
prendo una pipa mi stendo sull’erba
e fumo oppio al largo del Bazar.
Scatolette, surgelati
come le mosche che volano a strati
voglio respirare a questa età.
No, non fatemi morire a questa età
...è un Bazar che non mi va.
Bevo acqua ossigenata
prendo una pipa mi stendo sull’erba
e fumo oppio al largo del Bazar.
Scatolette, surgelati
come le mosche che volano a strati
voglio respirare a questa età.
...non lasciatemi morire a questa età
...no, è un Bazar che non mi va.
The song "Bazar" by Alice is a reflection on the complexities of modern life and the desire for escape. The first verse sets the stage with the image of a city suspended on a silver thread, and the singer acknowledging that if they speak loudly, they can hear their own voice, as if it's the only one that matters. The idea of being alone in a crowded city is a common theme in modern poetry and literature, and it speaks to a sense of disconnection that many people feel in today's society. The singer then goes on to describe their escape from this city and reality, using drugs and relaxation techniques to distance themselves from the stress of the urban environment.
The chorus is a repetition of the desire for escape and the singer's determination to resist what they see as the negative influences of modern life. They reject the idea of living on canned food and frozen meals, like flies buzzing in layers, and instead want to breathe at this age, to truly live and experience the world. The second verse continues this theme, with the singer describing themselves playing a game of "tombola" in a trendy club, aware that there might be cheating involved but willing to go along with the game for the sake of having something to do.
Overall, "Bazar" is a melancholic reflection on the traps and temptations of modern life, and the human desire to escape from it all. Alice's voice is haunting and fragile, and the lyrics paint a vivid picture of a world that's both beautiful and terrifying.
