Voy a nublar tu cielo tan azul
Probablemente no entiendas mi partida
Voy a nublar tu cielo tan azul
Probablemente me hagas mil reproches
Y desgraciadamente yo no pude darte
Y desgraciadamente yo no pude darte
The lyrics to Alicia Villarreal's song Dos Mares express the pain and sadness of a broken relationship. The singer declares that they will cry "two seas" more than their partner, effectively overshadowing their once-blue sky. The reasons for the separation are not explicitly stated, but the singer suggests that loving and suffering are inevitable components of life. They anticipate being reproached for leaving and for taking away the star of their partner's nights. However, they acknowledge that there are millions of other stars in the sky, and that the love and fulfilled relationships that their former partner deserves are not something they could provide, even a fraction of. It's a song that grapples with the emotions involved in the end of a relationship and the difficulty of acknowledging that someone else may be better equipped to provide happiness and fulfillment.
