She was born in Chișinău and last year she was a backing vocalist for Pasha Parfeny in eurovision song contest 2012 in Baku.
Ethnical Moldavian songs and lullabies sung by her mother cultivated Aliona’s love for music. Since her childhood Aliona was a member of lots of artistic collectives, where she performed both music and dances. Later she was involved in the talent show Fabrica de Staruri 2 (Star Factory) where she gained the third place and the title of the public's favourite. With two of her ex-colleagues from Star Factory, Aliona formed the pop band Thumbs Up. The band existed for two years until the break-up in 2011. After that, Aliona took some trophies at international musical festivals as a solo artist, most notably at the Martisor Dorohoian and Dan Spataru festivals, which were held in Romania.
She is the Moldavian representant in Eurovision song contest 2013 in Sweden with the song "O Mie"

Aliona Moon's song "O Mie" tells a story of lost love and the pain of trying to move on from it. The lyrics speak of a thousand sunrises and sunsets lost in the sea and in oneself, and how memories of the relationship are like a thousand rays of sunshine that once brought joy to the couple. The song talks about the many shooting stars that they have witnessed and how they have looked at each other, and how they have witnessed countless nights pass by. Despite all this, they managed to stay together, and the song emphasizes their unity in the midst of difficulties.
The next verses talk about their struggles after the breakup. They now see only clouds instead of the myriad of colors that can be found between the sun and rain. They have left all their memories behind on sheets of paper, and then proceeded to destroy them. The singer cannot forget the pain of losing their love, and a thousand tears can't wash away the hurt. The silence that engulfs them on nights without you makes it hard to forget.
However, the singer is still holding on to hope for a new start, for renewed love, and for a chance to start anew. The final verse is about looking to the future, hoping to find love again, and hoping to make it work this time.
