Struggling and feeling overwhelmed during a difficult phase of life

Jesus helped me through the war
Feeling that God's support and guidance helped one to overcome challenges and difficulties

When I walked through my addiction
Reflecting on a past struggle with addiction and the negative impact it had on one's life

Causing pain and self-infliction
Acknowledging the harm that one's addiction caused, both to oneself and others

Through disease I was imprisoned
Feeling trapped in a cycle of addiction and recognizing the harm it caused to one's physical health

From the way that I was living
Recognizing that one's old way of life was not sustainable and needed to change

Couldn't break it couldn't pop it
Struggling to overcome addiction and feeling stuck in a negative cycle

It was bad I couldn't stop it
Acknowledging that one's addiction had taken over and was difficult to break free from

Like a lock without a key
Feeling trapped and unable to escape one's addiction without help

So I'm calling on my locksmith
Turning to God for help and guidance in overcoming addiction and living a better life

Asking God to come unlock it
Praying for God's help and support in overcoming addiction and finding a new path

So that I can be free
Desiring to break free from addiction and find a new, positive way of living

And hold the key inside my pocket
Wanting to take control of one's own life and make the most of the opportunities presented

So I stopped shooting dope
Having overcome addiction and turned away from a destructive path

And I quit smoking crack
Having left behind harmful habits and addictions

I got a one-way ticket
Making a commitment to a new path and not looking back

I'm ain't ever going back
Feeling committed to a new, positive way of living and leaving behind old, destructive habits

I deserve it I am worth it
Feeling confident and deserving of a positive, fulfilling life after overcoming addiction and hardship

I'm on Earth I have a purpose
Feeling that one's life has meaning and having a sense of purpose in the world

See my life was turned around
Feeling that one's life has improved and become more positive after overcoming addiction and other challenges

Just when I was feeling worthless
Having regained self-esteem and a positive outlook on life after going through a difficult time

I earned it
Feeling that one has worked hard to overcome challenges and deserves a positive, fulfilling life

Tell me Lord is this direction
Questioning whether one is on the right path and seeking guidance and reassurance

Of perfection you invest in me
Believing that God has a plan for one's life and has invested in one's success and happiness

A connection it's a blessing
Feeling that one has a strong relationship with God and that this is a positive force in one's life

Believing that the path one is on - guided by God - is the right one and will result in a positive future

I've held back a lot
Feeling that one has not been living up to one's full potential or making the most of one's opportunities
