The current members of All Left Out met playing shows together, in different bands. All Left Out self recorded an EP, 'Retrospect' in January 2003. In February 2005, the band funded and produced the recording of their debut album, entitled 'Never Say Never'.
In June 2005 they flew to the USA and began full time promoting and touring. At this point, the album was independently released in New Zealand, the USA and parts of Canada, as well as the UK, in May 2006. It has so far, independently, sold 17,500 copies worldwide.
On returning home to New Zealand in December 2005, they wasted no time in self-booking the 'Never Say Never' tour, which commenced in March 2006 and included extensive dates in the US, and the UK.
In February 2007 the band traveled to Melbourne, Australia to record the self- funded album, titled ‘The Conquest’. All Left Out made their fourth visit to the USA in June of 2007. They released the new album, and have independently sold 14,000 copies of it, to date. The band also played over half of the 2007 Vans Warped Tour.
This means they have independently sold over 31,000 albums worldwide.
Through their relentless self-promotion efforts, the band has established a fan base in all major cities of the USA, UK and New Zealand.
They are currently touring New Zealand with good friends, Arms Reach, on "The Conquest" tour, supporting their latest album.

Leaving
All Left Out Lyrics

A twinkle in my eye,
A compass in my open hand,
I’m here, a pioneer,
I understand, what this all entails
And the hourglass is running out of sand
Check my heading as I depart
Drum the beating of my hungry heart
I know there’s more to go
So make me stop (stop, stop)
I’ll do the best I can
Now I’m ready to embark
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll be glad you did
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll soar like people on wings
Left right left and I’m on my way
A hustle in my step, a hustle really can convey
I’m outdone
I wanna run to reach a place
The place a need to be
So I really should be keeping up the pace
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll be glad you did
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll soar like people on wings
Surrender
I surrender [x4]
Now or never[x2]
I surrender
Now or never
(Ah Ah Ah Ah)
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll be glad you did
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll soar like people on wings
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll be glad you did
Leaving is the hardest thing
But when you go you’ll soar like people on wings
(Ah Ah Ah Ah)
The song "Leaving" by All Left Out is a tribute to the idea of taking risks and embarking on new journeys with courage and determination. The lyrics speak about a person who has just arrived in a new place, and while the unknown is daunting, they are ready to take on the challenge. The person acknowledges the difficulties that will come with this new venture, but feels prepared and capable of facing them. The chorus emphasizes the idea that leaving is hard, but ultimately worth it, as it will lead the person to new heights and opportunities to soar.
The lyrics are rich with imagery, such as "A twinkle in my eye, A compass in my open hand" and "Like the beating of a drum, Drum the beating of my hungry heart," which create a sense of urgency and excitement. The use of repetition also adds to the emotional intensity of the song, with lines like "Leaving is the hardest thing" and "I surrender" repeating throughout. This repetition reinforces the idea that taking big risks requires a great deal of courage and determination.
Overall, "Leaving" is an inspiring song that encourages listeners to take risks and embrace new experiences, even when it is difficult. The lyrics are a powerful reminder that while leaving may be hard, it is worth it to pursue our dreams and ambitions.
